IL didn't give us a favor today - those dicks.

Purdue plays @ IU, @ IA, @ UM, @ MSU and last conference game @ IL. Purdue gets IU & UM at home. Need some help with MSU and need some ass kicking road victories.

Simple, right? LOL

To me though, their shooting away from WL will have to take a step up, or eventually Purdue will soon find some hardship losses on the road, even with the fantastic D they are playing.

Yes, if you look at it by an unbalanced schedule. But looking at it through KenPom eyes, Iowa is 13th and Indiana is 14th.

I saw this too and the metrics on travel are fascinating. Would be curious how much travel we did before this....

Feel like Painter/Keady had the saying about winning the conference title is defending your home court and picking up a few road wins.....

Out of those 5, I think 2 are potential wins in Iowa and Indiana. Michigan State and Illinois will be the 2 hardest. Michigan is iffy in my book.

Not impressed with Mich D. But yes their size is hard for anyone to deal with. Illinois D can be good on D, and on other occasions looks porous. Hope we catch them right, but with 2 top 20 NBA guys, talents on their side

It does suck for the West Coast teams. I don't blame any of their coaches from bitching. Obviously, the decision to join the conference was made way above their heads. The schools will make more money and maybe their coaches will too, but when in the heat of the battle, I don't blame them for being a little frosty about it.

In his defense, I believe he was responding directly to a question about schools having to travel out west. He was making a fair point, that if we are going to be concerned (which we obviously aren't), then we should be concerned about the travel of the west coast schools, not the mid-west ones like Iowa.

Believe me, I get that everyone knew this was going to be an issue. But I'm pretty sure if the roles were reversed we would be a little more understanding of the coach complaining about it in the heat of the season.

And there are numerous other schools in a similar boat.......they are still students, right? and not all of them are 25 year olds....lest we forget with all the NIL packages.

Now for Cronin, and the other coaches - spare me, please. I don't want to hear it - you're making an incredible living and reaping the rewards from these re-alignments and TV deals - the Pac 12's big football powers wanted a lifeline from the Big Ten, and they got it - it doesn't work for basketball really, but everybody's stuck with it......this guy has worn out his welcome before the first super-sized BTT.

I'm just saying that if PU was put in that situation and a reporter asked CMP about Iowa traveling to the west coast, we would all understand if he got a little hot about it. I'm not defending Cronin the person, I'm defending the position. None of the mid-west schools have anything to complain about. Our travel is easy compared to the coastal schools.
