Yes and moves very well imoCan he shoot?
Feel like @oldboiler52 mentioned we backed off Flory. We had been on Raleigh for about a year. Looks like we offered last June.Guess that means Flory is not in the plans? This seems like a new name on our airwaves. Watched a little bit of video and he doesn't seem to be able to get off the ground that well. Good hands though.
THIS /\At 6-11 235 I hope we don't try to pack 25 lbs on him. Think TKR and how the weight gain evidently affected him. I hope the plan for him is to be a 4 that can run, shoot and hit the boards.
Probably mean we have no shot at taking both Harris and Perry. I would be happy with either, but I think we need more players like Harris. Really hope we don't take him just because we are short of scholarships.
Back off? Did Painter really have a choice?Feel like @oldboiler52 mentioned we backed off Flory. We had been on Raleigh for about a year. Looks like we offered last June.
Power forward??? Lol
He "backed off" like I backed off Jessica Alba.Back off? Did Painter really have a choice?
Her loss though. He "backed off" like I backed off Jessica Alba.

They still have two more openings and were always going to take at least one big. Flory isn’t coming but they still have room for him if he wanted to. Many thought that he was going to commit to Auburn last month. Staff is still hot on Perry and Harris and there were reports a couple of weeks ago that Purdue may be pulling ahead with Harris. That would be the real problem here. In a guards game Harris OR Perry will be more what is needed for Purdue to be athletic & perimeter orreieneted.
Not saying this kid isn't a great pick up. But passing on Harris or Perry would be an interesting choice. But perhaps the staff knows neither was coming here anyway???
Even if Painter thought he could get both, you can’t count on it and it makes more sense to take a high quality big who is ready to commit, especially since the 2023 class only consists of a guard in Colvin. Now I think that Painter can sell the final spot as a great opportunity to round out a great class for whoever is willing to commit first. I think it helps his chances with both Harris and Perry. That would be the real problem here. Agree. Had to have a big in this class with only Colvin coming in this year and Berg showing ongoing injury issues. You could always go to the portal and they may still but Painter and staff have been so successful in developing young bigs that it would be a shame to go two classes in a row without taking one.Even if Painter thought he could get both, you can’t count on it and it makes more sense to take a high quality big who is ready to commit, especially since the 2023 class only consists of a guard in Colvin. Yeh, TKR's eating is on the program. At 6-11 235 I hope we don't try to pack 25 lbs on him. Think TKR and how the weight gain evidently affected him. I hope the plan for him is to be a 4 that can run, shoot and hit the boards.
Can never have too many wings. We already have 2 wings committed with Benter and Catchings. We don't NEED a 4th guard/wing in this class, we needed a big. We will still take 1 of Harris or Perry.
Plus there will be some attrition. Assuming there will be attrition. Maybe there will be attrition. Can never have too many wings.
Depends how much hot sauce is on them. Can never have too many wings.
Kid plays on the same AAU team Indiana Elite as Flory so we have seen a lot of him. IMO he was the main target because he can play inside out. Moves well without the ball. Similar game to Caleb Furst.I like this. He's been on our radar for a long time now. CMP wanted him and that's good enough for me. Burgess had a solid offer list it looks like too. Boiler up!
I like our chance with both IMO we are pretty much a lock with Harris I can't imagine we would lose him. Most predict Purdue or Stanford. We already have 2 wings committed with Benter and Catchings. Getting Burgess has to help with signing Perry (same AAU team) First to commit gets the scholarship?
Give me another kid with a pedigree.

Yeah Flory just seems like a kid you get hyped about, averages 9 and 7 his Freshman year, and then is off to the NBA.Hopefully we plan on playing him at Center. I like Perry but just found out Harris is Big Dogs son. Give me Harris. In regards to Flory, I was never that high on him. Way too raw to be ranked so high.
I believe he gained muscle in the weight room.Yeh, TKR's eating is on the program.
This is the first one we’ve offered.I'm really surprised that PU basketball hasn't (yet) landed one of Big Dogs kids but football did. GRob and Painter were teammates, I wonder if maybe they weren't all that close.
Long story about GROB and Painter not offering because we supposedly didn’t have room. He was also not recruited heavily and blew up his senior year to become a 5 star. There is a podcast or video somewhere out there where he mentions being pissed that he didn’t get offered.I'm really surprised that PU basketball hasn't (yet) landed one of Big Dogs kids but football did.
