I won't put too much stock in this because it's not like St. Peter's matched up particularly well on-paper vs Kentucky and yet they still won. But there are still some noteworthy things:
  1. St. Peter's allows the 11th-most number of FT attempts per FG attempt. This means they commit a lot of fouls. After the two FT-fests Purdue has benefitted from against Yale and Texas this is a very unfavorable stat for St. Peter's.
  2. St. Peter's gets their shots blocked the 5th most often in college basketball. Combined with the above stat this should be a big Edey game. Their tallest player is 6'10" but has only been used in 5% of line-ups over the last 5 games. Their 5 spot has mostly been split between 6'7" and 6'8" guys. I don't know anything about who they faced in the MAAC, but the tallest played they've faced in the tournament so far is 6'10" KJ Williams on Murray St. It would not surprise me if Edey simply overwhelms them like he did against Yale.
  3. They're a statistically bad FT shooting team, ranking worse than Purdue. But they hit 85.7% against Kentucky and 74.2% against Murray St.
  4. They are also a statistically worse team at turning the ball over than Purdue. They had 15 TOs against Kentucky and 10 against Murray St.
  5. KenPom gives us an 87% chance of victory with a projected score of 73-63.
  6. Despite the above ugly stats they are a legitimately great defense, 28th overall. 5th in effective FG %, 16th in 3pt %, 13th at blocking shots.
