Question re: Campus Visit

Purdue guys,

My son is applying to Purdue, and we hope to take a campus visit Thanksgiving weekend. (I'd like to take in a football game, and our available weekends are limited.) Will the campus generally be open for business? There are no campus tours that weekend, but I assume we can get a good sense of the campus from just walking around. Any advice would be appreciated. And, any insight into the marching band would be appreciated as well (my son is interested in joining).

The band is good the basketball and football team are both on the rise could be the best 4 years of his life. I personally like the campus.

You picked a good weekend, that is the IU Bucket game. There is usually a pep rally with the All-American Marching Band at Slater Hill, a few blocks SW of Ross-Ade stadium before the game. Good time to see the best Marching Band in the country. Yes, feel free to walk around. Check out the dorms(may not be accessible for entry without credentials nowadays) as well as the academic part of the campus.
