Purdue WVB lets first set vs Kansas slip away 29-31

#10 Kansas holds on despite the Boilers having 5 set points. But Purdue also had 7 service errors.

Purdue wins second set 25-21. Playing better now with better serving. Game was still nip and tuck till the end.

Purdue is in trouble losing 3rd set 22-25. Colvin has become very quiet. This is first game where the Boilers have lost two sets.

So they lose their first match 1-3 and 23-25 in the 4th set, All the sets were closely fought. Kansas is a veteran and experienced team and you could tell that was the case. They nearly matched or exceeded Purdue in all the important stats, especially in hitting % at our 0.278 to their 0.319. They were just a little bit better tonight.

Coach Shondell seemed to take it in stride crediting the Kansas team and saying for the most part we played very well.

We will see how they do against #9 Creighton tomorrow.

Thanks. That’s what I assumed but wanted to make sure. She’s most prone on the team to touch the net when blocking.
