Can only tell so much from exhibitions (our crappy teams look good in exhibition games too), but a few nice things to see:

-Free throws. Obviously we aren't looking at much of a "big picture" but nice to see Haas 4/4.

-Turnovers are low. Even though not against great competition, early season exhibitions can be pretty sloppy.

-Edwards looking good, not a surprise. But if he's become a consistent 3 point threat, this could really be a game-changer for Purdue more than anything.

-Assists are solid. Not necessarily a strong indicator given the competition, but good to see this (especially from the bigs).

Isaac Haas is PU's new point center.......announcers said Painter said Haas was horrible at passing before game

Anyone think Cline is playing for his spot on the roster this year? Seems to be getting a lot of minutes.

Of course he is. If he doesn't redshirt, he won't be playing 15-20 minutes. Thus, Painter has to see how effective he can be from the get go.

Davis back in? OK, he's ok

Cline catching the collar on his threes

No Taylor yet.........

Isaac Haas is having a solid game.......

continuing offseason discussions:
its only exhibition, but
if we have PG foul trouble, bad matchups, etc, i think we can manage stretches of games without a true point in many games.

FT Shooting? Good

3-Pt Shooting? Not so Good.

One thing at a time.
Yep. The 3 point shooting will come as a lot of shots were in and out .. and all the way in.

Cline had a horrible night shooting but passed and played defense I thought very well.

And I swear when Weatherford came on, I swear Kramer was back in uniform. Size and defense reminds me of an early on Kramer, if he DOES turn in to Kramer 2.0, that would awesome.

Way to go Taylor.........really pulling for this kid even though I know where he's at in the rotation

CMP seemed very pleased with his numbers for the time he was in there.........

Ugh, I hate calling him "CMP" (who actually says "Coach Matt Painter"), but yes, he should be pleased. Solid first showing in a real game. Look forward to see him play. He won't get a lot of minutes this year, but I think he'll be a very good get for us in the future.

LOL, me too, but I can't bring myself to call him just "Painter" or "Matt". Plus it's easier to type! And I agree about Taylor, I hope to see him blossom any chance he gets.....good kid who has had his share of setbacks

When we are up big late in a game. It will be tough to call off the dogs with the way the lineup of Weatherford, Cline, Mathias, Taylor and Haas played at the end.

The shorter shot clock will make it even harder as well.

Jackson hit 11 threes the other night for Northwestern. They are 2 and 1 currently. PU is playing them because of Dakota Mathias connection.
not sure if he was a late to develop, but the kid can score..and score...

He's clearly set himself as the starter IMO.
not as easy for me to see. need to see how they mesh for more than a game. He and PJ are almost opposites. Perimeter offense may go to PJ, on ball Defense may go to Hill. Not sure of turnovers, but expect them both to see time
