Interesting, and some might find ironic.....Purdue is currently fifth nationally in 3pt FG% after yesterday's contest.

One thing I have observed is that it appears the general 3pt shot selection is better overall so far this season than in the recent past. IF (and it's a big if) the Boilers can keep this up, it lends a little more assistance for the arguments that Purdue's ceiling might be somewhat better. Of course, the real key is being able to do it consistently in the crucial games.

Also, if the turnover situation doesn't improve......likely to be some disappointing losses down the line.

Dakota Mathias, Carsen Edwards, and Ryan Cline look to continue be the top threats. If Spike can get healthy, and Caleb Swanigan and Vincent Edwards are appropriately selective with their attempts......no reason the Boilers can't continue the trend so far.

Just some thoughts to try and end the weekend on a positive note.

While it's nice to see a respectable average from 3 this year, I hope we don't become too reliant on the long ball. I would like to see more movement towards the basket in an attempt to put pressure on the logjam in the middle with foul trouble for the opponent. If we can get the players huddled in the lane in foul trouble, we can open up our two pronged attack of baskets close to the rim and a respectable percentage from 3.

I think there has been so much focus on our our post players that we need to actually shoot them open some games. Yesterday our opponent chose to keep the ball from getting into the paint and made us beat them from outside and we did. Louisville tried a similar strategy but they had the players/athletes to recover and get out to our shooters to force a pass or a contested shot. We showed in that game that we still don't know what to do when we face a team that can defend the post and perimeter fairly well simultaneously. Personally I've always though we don't use shot fakes enough when we have defenders flying out at our perimeter shooters.

@RyneSmith_ If he keeps it up the pump fake, can we call him Ryne Cline? :)
