I crunched some of the numbers using my own rating algorithm (see: my signature) to see where we compare to some of our past classes. I felt like we were off to a slow start with only one commitment so far, but as it turns out it's kind of the norm. Here are the average star ratings of each class at this point in the year (within a week or so):
And if anyone is curious, the average star rating of a Big Ten commitment in 2016 so far is 3.510 stars, though that is inflated by OSU's, MSU's, PSU's, and UM's monster classes so far. Josh Hayes is rated fairly well at 3.405 stars, and that is without an ESPN rating which which tends to boost players even higher.
Anyway, I thought this was interesting. Twist this in any way you want.
