COMMIT ALERT: #Purdue lands 2025 guard Antione West Jr. over Nebraska, Ohio State and others.

West is the first member of the 2025 class for the Boilers.

While fans are constantly debating whether Painter should or shouldn't promise recruits starting roles, I cringe a little when I see published stories announcing the kid will walk into a logjam at his position.

Even though we have not been affected by it like other schools to date, logjams can be cleaned up pretty quick anymore at any school with the Transfer Portal and NIL

IMO, any top 10 school likely will have logjams at several positions. Purdue is nothing different from the other 9 in that regard.

I like that painter is going after bigger guards that can play multiple positions. Great get and fit for the future.

We got a good one here. One of his games I watched he hounded the other teams ball handlers so much the kid set the ball down and attempted to fight him before getting a technical. His game will serve us well. He is a bit on the slim side but doesn't affect his game. Funny he is the first to commit as he has been recruited the longest and hardest. Definitely a player others want to play with.

I'm not sure what is up but Tre Singleton tweeted out photos of himself in Purdue uniform with the caption Boiler up and a set of eyes late last night. I just retweeted it one of you guy's please post it. Seems like we might get the big prize Painter has sought. If you think I am big on Jack you haven't seen nothing yet LOL!

Saw that somewhere on here. Looks promising. Sounds like you might like this guy a little bit. LOL

I’m really high on Singleton too! He’s definitely a three level efficient scorer, hits the boards and plays aggressively on both offense and defense. I’ve mentioned that in my opinion he’s definitely got more upside and complete game than Sisley and to be determined in comparison to SWA. He also seems to be interested in the educational aspect of the schools he’s visiting.

Apologies if this was posted elsewhere, nice article from his hometown paper. Link - West article

I really like this quote from West. “It's always been a school that I wanted to go to growing up.” Shows that Purdue’s success is making a difference in recruiting, particularly hearing it from a kid who’s not from Indiana.

Thanks for posting. I like how he talked about Ivey and Carsen. He will be able to learn a lot next year and will be a good piece for the future of the program.
