Have to wonder if Braden playing 40 minutes every game is starting to catch up with him.
our perimeter defense against preventing a team from shooting 3'shas never been very good. we give them space to shoot and they are taller and just shoot over our out stretched hands. the way to defend the three is to deny it from ever taking place. that involves a press and a double team and denial of the ball. and maybe a trapping zone. our man on man defense is not working
Totally out played in every phase of the game, including effort. Haven't been this disappointed in quite some time. At home with title and seeding on the line and we don't play. Silver lining......Heide and Colvin took the ball to the basket a few times and made some 3's. Season is far from over but we need to seriously regroup...both players and coaches.
Smiths on the ball defense was non existent. He did appear to be very tired.
You can't play forty minutes a game all season and not have it catch up to you.
It's on Painter to figure out how to get him rest and get other players to maintain things. Someone has to be the backup point guard.
Painters gotta give him a rest. He was dropping his shoulders everytime he got beat... signals.. I'm gassed.to tired to score. His extra 9 it's change the game. Defense was terrible. Tired team.
Can't lose home games and be B10 champs.
This team closer to 4/5, than champs @ this point.
Hopefully, they right the ship on the road.

Purdue leads at halftime and then scores 47 points in the second half – forty-seven -- but gets BLOWN OUT GIVING UP 58! That’s FIFTY-EIGHT FREAKING POINTS! The exact total Purdue scored for its entire game at Marquette. Only six less than Wisconsin scored in its entire game against Michigan. And, in that second half, Purdue allowed 72 PERCENT SHOOTING and forced ZERO TURNOVERS. AT HOME! Defense doesn’t live here. It moved and left no forwarding address … except “This Way To The Basket. All Lanes Open.”
Definitely, didn't see the drive by him today. I noticed CJ bringing the ball up in the 2nd half. His demeanor was not the typical Smith we are used to.
I feel he usually bounces back the next game and sets the tone. He may come back and lead us to a win at MSU.....I hope. I know they want a B1G title though.
He has sat out a total of 40 minutes since the Maryland game…that’s a span of 17 games. That’s crazy.
Maybe he is/has been sick? Lots of illness going around all over the country. IDK, rest of the team looked mostly ok though. Just a thought
OK nice using caps, defense has it limitations with no rim protector, like we had in Edey, but our ranking on defense had improved a bunch since first of year, but last 2 games hurt.
Purdue had a 68-point defensive average coming in. Wisconsin scored within 10 of that in one half and topped it by 26. Those 94 points were the most allowed in Mackey in 12 years.
No. I’d already hired three Petes for a big trophy party.
