I’ve been proud of of Purdue football for over 50 years. I own and wear Purdue shirts and ties. I own Purdue flags and coasters. I own a Purdue stuffed bear and a Purdue plush football. I eat at Bruno’s.
I’m also proud of the PACKERS,Brewers and Bucks for the past 50 years through the good times and the bad.
However, unlike some people, I don’t feel the need to brag about my loyalty. And I’m a realistic person rather than a homer. It makes me happy when they win, although I rarely expect it or predict it.
Win or lose, I will still be proud of the Boilermakers! Something we forget, not all Boilermakers are football players! Some are engineers, some are pharmacists. Some are nurses. Some are educators. Those who play in the band are Boilermakers!
I will always be a BOILERMAKER! And I’m very proud of my school and all that it entails and all of the people from Purdue.
I never really liked the BOILER UP cheer or the frat parties! But no matter the score on Saturday, I will still go to church on Sunday. And be proud of this team.
I learned growing up there is more in life than winning football games! There are no trophies on my walls! I own two coats that are 50 years old . They both still fit. One is from Philmont. The other is my full dress tuxedo from being a part of the Purdue Varsity Glee Club. I still know the words to the Purdue hymn and can still sing it! I can still recite the Purdue mathematics cheer. I also still have my Purdue y Tomahawk and pot hat.
I have many memories from Purdue! Some of those memories include Purdue football.
Is Walters any better or worse than Agassi? I’m not sure. I do know I met my future wife at a Purdue football game and I treated her to a shake after the game.
