Not in the fire CMP camp, yet, because it’s just NOT going to happen anytime soon, and because I want to see what he can do with this season.

I am very concerned with the team that is playing, but more importantly, the players who are not. The 2017 class is not measuring up to past classes thus far, in terms of instant impact, and it’s certainly NOT because the guys getting the minutes are playing lights out. We only have 3 guys playing right now who will be around next year. Unless the 2018 class comes in and plays WAY above their rankings next year, we are in serious trouble.

The posters who voiced concern about Grady playing over 3 scholarship players were absolutely correct - that’s called a red flag my friends.


Having said all of that - how many more years does Painter have on his contract? I know Morgue extended him on his way out the door last year... how many years, how much money per, buyout, etc?

Roughly $2.2 million annually and I think it runs until 2019-2020 season.

That would have been hella bad optics... former player/alum leaving his school due to lack of support from AD... I’ll say no.

Let me say this that freshman class is good only way to no how good they are they have to play. Hopefully they all will get there opportunity. I no how good my son is just gotta get some minutes on the court to help this team and hopefully soon that happens.

My mindset with coaches' contracts is usually "it's what the market will bear." However, that certainly was not the case with our last football coach. Painter is the 4th highest paid coach in the Big Ten. Therefore, I would say that he must finish 4th or higher in the Big Ten to have earned his salary.

Matte painters got to go been saying that for quite some time now but every time I say it I get called a troll. And that does throw up red flags when you got to walk on playing meaningful minutes why supposably by your guyses count one of Purdue best recruiting classes rides the bench. Just goes to show you maybe the people ranking these players does know something we are in for a long year next year maybe the year after

Here's the bright side. We have an AD now that will pull the plug on Painter if this crapshow continues. Last night was a joke. This team is weak from a physical standard. And weak mentally. I don't care about the Freshmen. I don't care about the commits. I don' think this AD will either. He rightfully punted Hazell and I think has set the bar with that move. Painters seat is warming up and it's very possible we'll see a 3 game winless trip to the tourney. Go to the Bahamas and not win a game? After all the talk about the overseas trip and growth/jelling we'd get from it? We should be ahead of the other teams with all extra games and practices. Painter had better get this team out of the ditch or "He gone". We can sit here and call for him to be canned or mindlessly defend him....that decision won't be made by us.

I think the Painter Era will be remembered as one that didn't disappoint, but wasn't spectacular, you know, what the fans wanted/thought it was going to be. If that is what you describe as mediocre, than so be it.

14 years and as far as we've been in the NCAA tournament is a sweet 16 in only did that what twice three times in 14 years you don't call that very disappointing

You are right, I don't know what's going on. All I know is this is not the same team that I have been watching since July. It's as if someone has drugged the whole team,they seem to be very sluggish. I have been rooting for the Boilers for too long to give up on them now. That doesn't mean that I don't like the way they are playing. Hope they can turn this thing around soon.

Hopefully we can at least beat Arizona tonight and salvage something from this trip. Otherwise...

Regardless of how this season ends up, I have enjoyed watching these young men play basketball. They are a bunch of fine individuals on and off the court. Just remember this is just a game.

I'll be there when I can. I work nights during the week so I can only get to the weekend games. But that's the difference between real fans and those bandwagon fans, I am not jumping off this Train

Dude really, you think bcuz you a long time fan you no everything bcuz you been a fan for 35 years you really think you no everything You no nothing. Than find another team if this team, coach, players aren’t what you thought they were. You are what your are a depressed old man who don’t no nothing and again I will stand on what I no and I will go back and forth with you to prove you wrong and stand by this team and players since you have and many have thrown them under the bus. You cried and ask for forgiveness how you acted about a month or 2 ago and as soon as team don’t play to your standards 1st thing you do revert back to old ways and negative opinions of painter players the 2017 class etc and completely down them bcuz you think you no them you no nothing dude. Yes, tremendous progress was made from the poor performance (on the floor and on the sidelines) on Wednesday to yesterday...can't wait to see what happens tonight (well, actually hear, as no chance I waste the time to actually watch it after what has happened the past two days). While it may "only" be 7 games into the season, this group played meaningful games and had a ton of extra practices and time together...so that notion of "only 7 games into the season" is VERY misleading. More importantly, a lot of the problems that this team has are not problems that are able to be fixed, never mind will be...and some of it is simply the guy running things.
