I don’t disagree. But, besides Illinois those teams you’ve listed get better recruits and better talent. Izzo and Beilein are/were better at making in game and in season adjustments and their teams (more guard oriented) were better suited for March. Maybe if painter can get those types of recruits or changes his system, he may have better success. But I’d say he’s done pretty well with the system and recruits that come to Purdue.
I'm not sure why you don't understand how this situation unfolded. Adidas didn't care where Langford committed as long at is was A) an Adidas school B) high profile C) someplace he'd get immediate playing time and likely be a 1 and done.
iu happen to be the beneficiary geographically with the idea of "local boy makes good and signs with the home team"
Maybe the Langford family grew up iu fans and that's where he want to go anyway, but again, has his dad's AAU team been funded by Nike and not Adidas, this story probably turns out differently.

Reread my post. Adidas obviously funneled 5 stars to Kansas. You think they didn’t do the same with IU?
No. Adidas funnels five star high profile recruits to high profile Adidas bball schools.
If the Langfords lived an hour outside of Lawrence, KS, do you think Romeo goes to iu or KU?
And again, what did iu do that was illegal or below board? This sounds like an Adidas issue, not an iu issue.

No one said it’s illegal. The whole point is Purdue doesn’t have a shoe company funneling top 20 players to us.
How would one go about getting a shoe company to funnel top 20 kids to a university? Asking for a friend….
If I see Harris at the game tomorrow I’ll throw him some NIL money. Amount would depend upon how much beer money I have left.
Then maybe Purdue needs some local 5 star kids that live close by to have their dad coach their Aau team and approach Nike about supporting them.
I’m just curious: what other schools are getting players funneled to them by the shoe companies, or is it only iu?
Regarding the “create their own shot” point, I think we’ll see TKR start and play major minutes this season, for that reason. When Painter has had guys who could get their own shots (Carsen and Ivey) he has allowed them to and I think TKR gets quite a bit of freedom this season with so much defensive focus on Edey.
I also think we’ll see a more prominent role for Smith this season. He can get his own shot when he needs to and I think he uses that ability to create for everyone else. Painter has not had a true point guard who could do what Smith can do and I think it will make a huge difference to the offense.
If that’s the goal, we might want to find another shoe company. We’re not real high on Nike’s priority list…

Stop feeding the trolls...... There are a handful of real Purdue fans that are and have been on the fire Painter kick (I.E. Bonefish, BoilerDeac), but most of these posters are likely IU fans just trolling. It's pretty easy to tell the difference. The ones that are actual fans will respond with substantive answers, the trolls with shoot out 1 line shots. Ignore them.

I live in Georgia travel a lot for work to places like Memphis and Houston. Everyone who talks sports knows about Brees, Edey, Edwards, and Ivey. They think of Purdue as one of the best Basketball teams in the BIG (second to MSU). None of them think highly of our Football Program.
Since 2016 I’ve lived in Big12 country (OKC) and the sentiment here is pretty much what you described.
