Painter Adjustments

This team had some speed, length, and athleticism (ex's: CE and Smotherman). You're making excuses for the coaches.

Also, I have coached before.
Carsen was a freshman and often played like it.
Yes this team had some speed and length and other positive attributes. But very few individual players had several of those attributes together. Look at the top teams we played this year, Villanova, Louisville, Kansas. They had 5, 6, or 7 players a piece who had the entire package. We gave most of them a good run but couldn't overcome the athleticism deficit.
I have no attachment to Painter versus any other decent coach. If we had Archie I'd support him, or Cuinzo, or Greg, etc.. I support them because I have respect for the task and very little for a bunch of fans who don't know what is coached, and why, spouting off about firing them. You at least have your performance evaluated by someone who knows the job you do. Imagine if your career were impacted by thousands of strangers who know nothing about what you do except that they don't have the national title they want to have.

Saying fans know "nothing about what they do" would be inaccurate. Do we know all the details and finer points of what goes on in practice and behind-the-scenes on a day-to-day basis? No, we don't but unless you're some rich booster or board member type that can flaunt their money around to get more access to the program (or just a famous alumni), you're essentially pigeon-holing hundreds of thousands of college basketball fans around the country by saying that they know "nothing about the program", simply because they are not technically a part of the program. That's silly talk.

Yeah I knew that was coming. And I agree it's part of the territory of coaching. But it doesn't make the critic who speaks from a position of ignorance a better person. I don't mind the critics but I do believe a criticism should be backed up with accurate information and knowledgeable opinions.
Just hire Nag to ecruit one 5th year transfer point guard to run a 1 out 0 in isolation offense and a 1-0 zone with some "wrinkles" and there would be nothing to criticize.:D
PS: I too will take that 2.3 a year and all the crap it entails for as long as I could get away with it.:)

So my saying that people should not criticize what they don't know anything about is "silly talk"? Wow. I'll just let your statement argue against itself.
It's your turn.

That is nag's way. He is the only one allowed to criticize people on here and no one else. They guy is a straight up arrogant uninformed ass.
