In case some might be interested, as TMHR comes to Mackey next week....hopefully no fireworks ensue.

Not the best way to end a game.....overreaction? perhaps....Fran did privately apologize as well.

Some excerpts from the ESPN story....

"I wasn't pleased with how the game ended and the things that happened," McCaffery told reporters after the game. "I'll say this, I have a lot of respect for [North Dakota head coach] Brian [Jones] and [assistant] Jeff Horner. I don't think they teach that stuff. But I was not having it. That's not the way to play."

McCaffery hinted he was not pleased with several rough plays late in the game that Iowa led for all but 41 seconds and by as many as 19 points. But it was still physical down the stretch, culminating with Iowa's Jordan Bohannon being given a dead-ball technical with 37 seconds left.

"I told my players I was proud of them," McCaffery said. "You can't get caught up in that. The game was over. We don't need Pete [Jok] getting knocked to the floor. We don't need guys getting up in Jordan's face, Nicholas Baer's head getting chopped off. We don't need it. Game's over. Move on."

McCaffery told ESPN's Jeff Goodman on Wednesday morning that he regretted what happened after the game and that he texted an apology to Jones afterward.

"I feel bad about it. I have a lot of respect for Brian Jones," McCaffery told ESPN. "I wish it didn't happen. I wish I shook hands.

Douche being Douche. He can't help himself, always sorry afterwards but can't control himself in the moment. Just waiting for him to get physical with somebody and it getting really ugly for him.

ND showed poor form no doubt last night at the end of the game, but you need to be the adult and shake hands and maybe have a private conversation with the other coach. Throwing your little Frantrum isn't the way to go.

all jesting aside, Purdue better be ready for that game. Iowa struggled early, but they've really come on during their current four-game winning streak.

That won't be an easy game to win.

I agree with you. I'm always concerned about the B1G games at home before the students come back. Just isn't the same atmosphere. That's a late (8:30) game on a Wednesday also which doesn't help.

Good points....everyone but CBoogie has that extra motivation (not that it should be necessary) after dropping two to the Hawkeyes last year, and especially from the second-half meltdown in Mackey last year....hopefully, they don't need it. Wouldn't mind CS grabbing another 20+ boards either.

Just about any game in the conference could go South if the team isn't quite mentally focused or ready to play at top-notch intensity. It doesn't hurt that Uthoff is gone either. I'm guessing Jok will be the highest priority target for Purdue's "D."

Should be a good contest. In closing.......

DEATH to the Hawkeyes, TMHR!

All Peter Joking aside , we better be ready for them, nice revenge game too.
I wasn't joking. They lost 5 of 7 down the stretch and then got bumped by Ill in the B1G tourney. They were 19-4(10-1) before that stretch...I think he went nuts.

Isn't this the coach of the Poke Eyes? Ironic he'd be complaining about rough play with the visual impairments his players caused last season.

To be fair, some of the North Dakota players were doing "bush league" stuff towards the end of that game. One of them put their hand on freshman guard Jordan Bohannon's hip when in a stack formation and, as you might expect, Bohannon took his hand and forcibly moved it away. When he did that, the guy flopped to the floor and Bohannon was called for a technical foul. So with that kind of play, I can understand why McCaffery was ticked off. However, I'm not sure he should have been so ticked about the other stuff.

Woodbury graduated...goggles sales have plummeted.

Deserving of a reply just to highlight the word "Frantrum". Nice work!

He did it to a Boiler also. It happens but he was clearly creating the situation over and over as is clear in the lowlights. Not even attempting to get the ball. Just going for the face.

I don't recall that. Who was the Purdue player that he poked in the eye?

Woodbury was to eye-poking what Grayson Allen is to tripping.

Maybe in quantity of times caught, but no comparison in incidental flops, scowls, "who, me?" looks, and outright toddler tantrums. GA is in a class all by himself.

Oh now your asking for more than a foggy memory:D. I think it was a minor poke and I believe it was the game in Mackey because I don't think it was a big deal...yet. I also think Allen gets more pub because he is a Dukie and because his crime is tripping and acting like 3 year old on the bench, both of which are very obvious.
