The biggest punk/thug in college ball is of course Grayson Allen. I know he's under the microscope, but my goodness, he's involved in garbage every single game! In one game today he gets a tech for flapping his mouth at an opponent and later in the game he pulls the arm of an opponent when he can't get to the ball (because tripping wasn't an option apparently). Trips THREE players this year and has toddler meltdowns on the bench. Glad the Duke staff is doing a great job on making sure their players are classy. Talk about total failure. Duke is a joke. Sorry for the vent but it really bothers me when a fully capable coaching staff does nothing to help a kid and just let's him spiral out of control just to squeeze out a couple more wins. Embarrassing and just sad. Just hope Allen doesn't end up seriously hurting someone or himself before the season is over.

He did zero wrong in that incident today. Allen and the wake player going for the ball both handled it right. Wake player 2 came over and madenit seem like something was going on and escalating the situation. Then wake player 3 comes and grabs and throws Allen to the bench. He should have been ejected.

I agree with the poster above who said the two players directly involved in the play did nothing wrong. In fact, both of those players did an outstanding job of trying to defuse the situation. I was impressed by the Wake player immediately shouting, "No! No! No!" to his inciting teammate, and it appeared to me that a different Wake player pretty much threw Allen to the bench. And despite that, Allen didn't retaliate.
Obviously, Allen has placed a target on himself by his prior actions, so I'm not pitying him. But in that one incident today, he and the Wake player were totally blameless.

I predict the Grayson Allen saga will evolve into media empathy for K accepting and trying to help the poor kid with special needs, a story fit for the Hallmark channel.

I said it before, I am certain that kid has Aspergers. Not saying it is an excuse for acting douchey, but it is so obvious. It is also why the coaches don't lay the hammer down on him nor tell the public about it (HIPPA). Doesn't lessen the holier than thou BS from coach K, but I have some sympathy (not much) for Grayson.
He may have it. I know several kids from age 11 through their early 20s that have been diagnosed with it (mostly kids of co-workers over the years), and if one of those kids were good enough to play D-1 basketball, I don't they they would be socially capable of playing. It doesn't matter what he has or why he is being a punk, it is obviously out of control and Duke's coaches are not doing enough to protect Grayson and the other players who all work VERY hard to compete every day. As I said above, just embarrassing and sad.
I mean.....the game where he blatantly tripped a player, they didn't even bench him in the second half after that incident. That's just common sense to...
