OT: Caleb Swanigan - Draft Steal?

In case anyone wanted an update:

5/8/3 for Caleb Swanigan last night during 16 minutes (+17) of action in Portland's 103-93 win over the New Orleans Pelicans. Fellow Boilermaker E'Twaun Moore had 8/2/2 with 2 steals starting for New Orleans and playing 28 minutes (-4).

Looks like he is doing what he does there in practice too.

He looked good generating that stat-line as well. The block at the end of the 1st quarter was sensational, and he battled Cousins quite well when he had the opportunity.

For those with the NBA package, the Portland announcers are excellent & well-schooled on both Biggie and Purdue. You can tell they love what he provides when he's on the court.

I've seen a lot of filth on these message boards, but characterizing another poster as a rapist is a first.

We all see your plan from your username buddy. All you want to do is cause trouble. I never start any trouble. I just make a point. And then men attack me. People posing as men. Maybe you are all kids or bored women like me.

Guys you need to stop picking on her. He wasn't ready. Runner up to player of the year doesnt equate to nba ready. He could have came back and won player of the year. Perhaps ready at that point. Maybe. Shes just trying to make her point, and not cause any trouble by shitting on biggies decision to make millions and follow his dreams. You guys are all sexist pigs who dont know how to treat a lady right. I do though. Brains, beauty, AND a Purdue basketball fan? I can dream of a date cant I?

Its the same 5-10 posters who do it to everyone they don't agree with. It's pathetic.

"Right" isn't subjective. It's the path that gives you the best possible return in life & after life. Life is a lot more than money. Caleb didn't make the right decision. I didn't make the right decision with my ex. You move on and make the best of it.

Baby Girl, as someone who frequently told friends and family when we retired that we had given up quantity of life for quality of life when we moved to the mountains, I certainly understand your statement that money isn't everything. However, our frame of reference isn't one of a child whom lived in vehicles and homeless shelters most of the time growing up. Caleb's desire to earn a good living for himself and to help his family as soon as possible is very understandable as well as admirable. I for one could not possibly imagine holding something like that against him or anyone else in those circumstances. I would be extremely shallow if I begrudged him that, no matter how much I loved watching him play in Old Gold and Black. You are correct "Right is not subjective" and it would NOT BE RIGHT for me to be so presumptive to think I knew what was right for Biggie more than he and his family did.

If you're still name calling after elementary school I can't imagine you've ever been with a woman. Not consensually at least.

Baby Girl, I too am a Lady Boilermaker who bleeds Old Gold and Black for Purdue, I have read several demeaning posts now by you making extremely insulting insinuations towards our male Boilermakers regarding their sexuality or sexual experiences with women, if they disagreed with you. Personally, our fellow Boilermakers on this board have treated me with nothing but the utmost respect whether they agreed or disagreed with the contents of my posts- for which I am extremely grateful. They have treated me with the same respect that I feel for them and I find it incredibly satisfying to share our Purdue heritage and love of Purdue athletics with them. We are all individuals so I in no way mean to tell you how you should respond to others' posts. I simply offer my personal experiences here and am saddened that you obviously do not feel the same. I hope your experiences and outlook improves as we are all Boilermaker who care about Purdue or we would not bother to be here. And as you so correctly pointed out in another post " right is not subjective". Ever faithful, ever true.

You're combining what's right for you and what was right for Caleb. They're separate. You are making the right decision. He didn't. The money would've always been there. So would a spot on an NBA bench. His chance at a final 4 is gone forever.

Some people just don’t have the same love of college that others have. So for every Baker Mayfield that bypasses the NFL money to return to Oklahoma for an attempt at a NC you have dozens of Caleb’s following the money. Caleb made what he believes was the right decision for himself, what makes you think you have any idea what is best for him?

No Baby Girl, you are the one saying he made the wrong decision. I am saying I understand why he may have made the decision that he made. I am also saying it was his decision to make...not any of ours who might derive vicarious pleasure from him playing here at Purdue( of which I happily admit I am one)And I was actually agreeing with you about $$$ not be everything. But was also suggesting that if one's family has been pretty much homeless their entire childhood that $$$ might mean more to them than it does to me who has been more blessed in my childhood.

O points in his last 2 games. Bad, selfish decision to leave. And Carsen was 6 for 17 in the scrimmage. We can't beat good teams with his selfish play. When I sniff somethin right it's always right so I just won't bother responding to any of you unless you got sense enough to agree with me.

I guess I am a senseless fool then .... or you are????

He is trolling from his southern Indiana trailer. Some of you may recognize the style. Banned multiple times under other names.

Congrats on always being right. Educated people prefer to keep learning

Last 3 games for Caleb 0 points, 0 assists, and 4 rebounds. We all saw him get schooled by Louisville & Kansas. Yet all you guys were fightin & cussin at me for sayin he shouldn't have left early. GUYS ARE STUPID

I’ve read many of your posts and to me I kinda understand what you are saying to some degree but in regards to biggie staying another season to be honest would not have in my opinion benefit him staying another season besides maybe helping purdue win a national championship that might have happen if he stayed. He won just about every award you could win, he had a stellar season and he help purdue to a sweet 16 appearance and out right big ten champs what else could he do besides winning a national championship this season, but not sure even winning a national championship would change the facts his might still be drafted the same as he was this past draft. If he was more athletic and quicker at his position he would have been a lottery pick. With all he accomplished much more than most of the 25 players that were picked b4 him all bcuz of there athleticism and speed made them better pro prospects than biggie even tho he had a better season than many of the 25 picked b4 him. He did what he felt that was best for himself, his family and what he had worked so hard for to make it to the NBA and he accomplished what so many will never do bcuz many don’t have his work ethic and drive to get better he did and for that he did what was best for him not purdue or the fans but for him and with all he has gone thru in his life whether he sits on Portland bench all season which I don’t think he will just a log jam at his position bcuz the other rookie hasn’t played either not just biggie he getting a check to live a life he now can comfortably live for the 1st time in his young life. His lack of production has nothing to do with him being out played it’s simply they got a couple of other players at same position that he is fighting for playing time with. Switch positions u be biggie and you go through all he went through in his life you get an opportunity to live your dream make it to NBA and not have to live in foster homes or shelters anymore you take the money too I no I will advise my son to do so. He made a decision to leave purdue bcuz it was the right time his stock was high enough and he made a decision that was best for him not for his fans but for him give him that much credit and be happy for him living out his dream.
