Oregon

Zone wouldn't of made a lick of difference. Also saying Painter doesn't make adjustments just tells me you aren't watching the games and just posting this stuff to stir the pot.
Right. Since you are "BoiledSteel" are you the kettle calling the pot black or the pot calling the kettle black? I guess the pot would be made out of cast iron, so you must be the kettle? Lol

Well Oregon did do something different, they played zone. Not saying we would have won if we had. Can't believe anyone would just say "oh well, 32 point loss, nothing to see here, nothing to do different here". Lol
Oregon only beat UM by 1. I don't think they were light years ahead of us. Don't want to make adjustments? Fine, you'll keep coming up with the same results.
Z... If CMP said the sky is green and the grass is blue, they'd say he's right. They're are some things just not worth arguing with them about. We will continue to have a s16 ceiling until he's gone.

True. I just hate seeing a good team not be given all the chances they have to win. I know people don't agree, but it seems silly not to explore the options. I don't think Painter is a bad coach. I think he is a good coach. I just don't get why he doesn't think outside the box. I'd never tolerate that kind of thinking in my business. It takes everything you have to be successful. To close yourself off from other ideas makes no sense and obviously hinders the chance of reaching the next level.

Yeah if CMP said the sky is blue you would say it's green and say you were right. All while you never even looked outside to see if it is true.

You have zero idea how high Painter will go because his tenure isn't done yet and if there is one thing we have learned this season, you haters don't really have any sort of leg to stand on anymore anyway.

Again, you clearly have never watched one Purdue game this season with comments like that. Not a one.

13 year has told me all I need to know.

You are clearly a fool. You wouldn't know a zone if someone drew you a picture.
So I get it, since you couldn't counter anything I said your only course was to call me a fool. Pretty much proved my point then in that you've never watched a game and are just trolling.

I already countered it and more. You started the bashing. Can't take it? Not surprised with a name like "Boiled Steel". BS are your initials after all. Lol

It's too bad you watched it all through narrow minded glasses.
Actually, I think CMP is the one watching with narrow minded glasses. I want him to open things up... Use different defenses. He did a great job of recruiting the players we have. He's adjusted our offense to make it one of the best in the league... Why not adjust the defense. With the rule changes over the past few years, his style of "get into them" doesn't work. "freedom of movement" by the offense has changed the way the game is played. If he doesn't, then yes, S16 is probably our ceiling.

Agree with what you are saying here. I think though that the defense he runs is dictated by the players he has and that clearly changing so I think we will see different things.

Now, I don't think just running a zone would of helped much this season. We had far too many turnovers and cold shooting stretches that did us in far more than sprinkling a zone in would of acconplished. But that is just me.

I.....this stuff makes you look like you're not watching......really. We don't play "get into them" anymore. We don't pressure in the halfcourt anymore. This year was all about a contain and helping style of man to man, backing off because we weren't athletic and to help contain dribble penetration. Didn't work very well at times but did do much better than being up on them on the perimeter.

I realize what we play. My point was that was when we were a great defensive team you could get by with playing only man to man because that's what we did "get into them". Man to man alone is not effective anymore because of the rule changes.
