people are up in arms and making an indictment against Painter's recruiting based on ONE(1) position on the floor. And before anyone argues that it's the most important position, I'd strongly disagree with that sentiment. Within the motion offense, and specifically Purdue's, everyone, outside of the 5, needs to be able to dribble, pass, and shoot. Most importantly, out of those skills, is pass. Look at Mathias - kid is a 2 guard and was possibly the best passer we had. And VE, prototypical 4 in Painter's system, is an excellent passer. Painter has assembled a very good to great team 2-5. The one position some are bitching about is probably the most insignificant player in the motion offense...Now bringing the ball up court against pressure/pressuring the ball on the defensive end is a different story. Anyways...rip away.
