One more reason to kick St. Peters' as$.....

Their team wears "black lives matter' warm up shirts. Talk about privilege.......Good grief Charlie Brown.
I could couldn't care less if wear nothing. I'm concerned about their defense and aggressive play.
That said, racism will never end because of a racist saying on a shirt. When BNI and others condemn the saying in public and state that ALL LIVES MATTER, then we'll have a start.

That is where y’all are mislead. Of course all lives matter no one is disputing that including the kneeling athletes. The slogan Black Lives Matter is a slogan of focus when it comes to police brutality against blacks. I don’t know why y’all can’t understand that.

The privilege to be good enough at a sport that a university literally pays you come play basketball for them while getting a free college education.
That is not a privilege. Nobody gives them a scholarship. They earn the scholarship. The scholarship can be taken away at any time.

This where y’all show how damn dumb you are. You know that more whites than blacks are killed by police every year, right? White Lives Matter would be racist though and y’all would have a heart attack if that organization was started. I don’t know why y’all are so dumb. That’s black privilege though. Be as dumb as you want with no ramifications while being protected by the media. Democrats act like they care about y’all for y’all’s votes but know you’re dumb and easily manipulated.

Do they matter in Chicago where more blacks are killed by blacks? How about Detroit? Baltimore? When you and others start a process to protect kids so they can be kids and play outside, Black Lives Matter is simply an attempt to disrupt the system.

So you think the majority of black people are dumb because they vote for democrats. But you're not racist, right?
No, I’m pointing out that blacks are one of the most uneducated races in the country and a large majority of them vote Democrat. There’s no coincidence there. Dumb people vote for dumb things.

That is one of the most ignorant and racist statements said on this board and they delete my posts. I guess you participate in this forum because you are a fan of Purdue sports. You ought to be ashamed of yourself. You are not the only one. Sad to see that there are racist Purdue fans.

I had deleted my earlier post because I decided it wasn't worth my time to engage, but I will jump back in for a moment to say this: you show a complete lack of consistency with this statement. You attempted to clarify that you weren't saying black people were "dumb," just that they were "uneducated." But, then you say, "dumb people vote for dumb things."

Lack of education does not equal dumb. "Dumb" refers to intelligence. "Uneducated" refers to development of knowledge and skills. So, you either need to correct your terms and start using "uneducated" exclusively or acknowledge that by calling black people "dumb" you are literally doing a racism by saying that they are unintelligent.

So, which is it? Do black people vote for democrats because they are uneducated? Or do they vote for democrats because they are dumb? Before you answer, please keep in mind that one of those statements says something about a potential societal problem that we could have a discussion about how to correct (though, it's probably also worth nothing that greater levels of education are positively correlated with democratic votes in the last couple decades, so I'm not sure additional or improved education for black people would result in them shifting their voting patterns). The other makes a generalization about the capabilities of a group of people based on the color of their skin.

Is it? You ought to be ashamed of yourself for bringing the black community down even further. Sad to see that there are Purdue fans as dumb as you are. There’s a reason why y’all ain’t too educated and keep voting Democrat. They know how dumb y’all are. They really helping y’all in the big cities ain’t they? Keep votin for them.

Ahh. Ok, you've made your view clear that black people are uneducated BECAUSE they're dumb. You can disregard my previous post.
Cool!! Can you imagine if blacks ever woke up? The Democrats would never win another election for the rest of time. But they’re good at keeping them dumb and down counting on the government for everything and in turn, their votes. This isn’t hard.

But your position that they are dumb means they can't wake up, right? Your post said there's a reason that black people are uneducated and that reason is that they are dumb.

The Democrats are keeping black people dumb? How does one keep someone else dumb? That's as nonsensical as saying that Republicans are keeping white people short.

Look at what Democrats have done to the education system, specifically in urban areas that are predominantly black and all run by Democrats. You should be smarter than this.

I disagree with you about "what the Democrats have done to the education system" but that's another discussion. For the sake of this one, let's pretend that I agree that Democrats have completely destroyed the public education system. That would make someone less informed and less able to think critically, agreed? But, that doesn't change anyone's inherent intelligence, right? You can keep someone ignorant, but you can't keep someone unintelligent (a synonym of "dumb").

You've said in this thread that black people are uneducated AND that black people are dumb. Are you sticking with both of those positions?

Has public education thrived in big blue cities? You don’t have to overthink that one and save it for another discussion. It’s a problem and has been a problem for a long time but for whatever reason, these people keep voting Democrat. Yes, the uneducated breed the dumb. It’s a cycle that never ends and one of the main reasons Democrats stay in power. The uneducated and dumb.

To add on, my pet peeve is when a white person regardless of political party says he or she is intelligent when describing a black individual. It seems like they have blinders on because what they are saying is “I just found a smart one because we all know most are dumb “. It’s like they are going out of their way to virtue signal “I’m not a racist “.

Stop trying to deflect. This is not relevant to the conversation at hand in which you are attempting to assign attributes to black people as a group.
Yes, the uneducated breed the dumb. It’s a cycle that never ends and one of the main reasons Democrats stay in power. The uneducated and dumb.
So you are, again, indicating that you think that being "uneducated" and being "dumb" are different things, that one's level of education and one's level of intelligence are independent of one another. I agree with you on this, although I don't know what you mean by "the uneducated breed the dumb." I'm presuming you don't actually mean "breed" in the biological sense -- because, of course, one's level of education would have no affect on the genetic information passed on to one's children -- but this statement seems to indicate that you think being around uneducated people can somehow negatively affect one's intelligence. But, that's neither here nor there. More to the point, you've also said several times that black people are dumb. So, you've again confirmed for me that your position is that, generally speaking, black people are unintelligent. That's all I was trying to clarify,

Agreed. Same thing goes for describing a black person as "well-spoken" just because they happen to not use black American slang in that moment.

It’s getting to the point with many Progressives that you can’t say much of anything to them because they typically assume the worst intent, regardless of the intent. A state of perpetual indignation. An automatic dismissal of anyone who dares to think differently than their jaded, sometimes immoral view of things.

I think it's reasonable to assume that most people who might use the "well-spoken" thing are not racist and legitimately mean it as a compliment, but, anecdotally, it seems people don't generally use that term when referring to white people. So, to use it to describe a black person seems to imply, as in BSIT's example, that finding a "well-spoken" black person is something worth noting, as if it is something rare.

Fact is, if we see someone speaking with slang terms or a particular accent or whatever rather than "standard" English, that doesn't say anything about their capabilities as a speaker or their intelligence. They could simply be making the choice not to code-switch.

Certainly not the biggest problem in the world, though. Just a pet peeve of mine.

I’ve heard the term “well-spoken” used for blacks, whites, Asians, and Hispanics. The only group I’ve ever seen or heard be offended when given that compliment was blacks? Why is that? It was meant as a compliment.

I can't speak for black people who may have been offended by it. Perhaps, though, there is a history of black individuals being described as "well-spoken" only when they choose to code-switch to standard English, which might imply that black American vernacular is somehow inferior.
