I believe there is money, but Purdue is not going to just give out millions or offer much playing time. I’d welcome some 5th year senior much like Duke added Gillis or like that player who came to Purdue from Michigan. There may be somebody out there who doesn’t have much talent but has a great basketball mind and great basketball heart. Maybe a basketball version of Rudy.
Or maybe a player who sustained a major injury. Purdue offers him a scholarship knowing he won’t play in 2025 because of his injury
On the other hand, rather than being selfish, and wanting a 2026 player to reclassify. And arrive early, I prefer they remain in high school. I want Ertel to stay in high school and enjoy his senior year. Win a state championship! Become mr Basketball. Go to the prom. Enjoy life. There is more to life than college basketball.
