I didn't see the game on BTN+ because I'm a cheapskate, but today on the Jim Rome Show the student who was calling the game is getting a lot of exposure - maybe even supplanting the "Boom Goes the Dynamite Guy".
First, you cannot replace the awkwardness of the "Boom Goes the Dynamite Guy", since that was allegedly a sports segment on a newscast and not a live game call. Live game calls should have some emotion, and the play involved Jaden Ivey - you know what kid, you're in Mackey, it's loud - how can you not get excited? This could be a special season and who cares if your voice cracked!
But that's two days in a row Purdue's gotten some run on the Jim Rome Show. Maybe the conversation today is kind of having some fun at the kid's expense, but keep talking Purdue. As long as it's not a scandal or something really dumb I don't see it as a bad thing.
