NKE Stock down 2.65% thus far today. Biggest loser on DJIA.

Crowing about daily market movements. You don't invest much, do you?
The news is all over the market and you want to discuss my personal investment habits? Interesting. For those wishing to discuss something other than my 401k, here's a good starting spot:

"Nike's shares were down 2.6%, or $2.19, shaving about 15 points from the price-weighted Dow DJIA, -0.26% of which it is a component, after the sports-apparel giant unveiled a new 30th anniversary ad campaign that features Colin Kaepernick, the NFL quarterback who led player protests against racial injustice and police brutality during the national anthem. The move by Nike is being viewed as highly political."

You're probably not gonna like how this turns out...

At least the article got this part right. I'm sure you and your brethren still think it is directly against the USA and the flag.

Tempted to a lay a bit down today on this likely discount.

They had been losing market share to Adidas for quite a while so time will tell if this move to gain street cred was a smart one.

So are you saying today's drop is relatively inconsequential overall?
You're not even smart enough to know the answer to that. It all depends on how much they gain by those falling for this desperate act vs. those offended by CK's national anthem protests and "pig/cop" socks. This could be a momentary setback or it could be the tipping point. Time will tell.

Adidas is down more than Nike is today. Neither is a sign of anything.

You're just coming off desperate, which I'm guessing is a frequent thing.
I post that its interesting that Nike stock is down almost 3% the day after they announce their CK advertising campaign and you think that's a sign of desparation? Well Damien, its all over the market news today so apparently all of these wall street media types are deparate too? Are you really Indy35?

Haha, did someone get their feelings hurt that they keep getting proven wrong in their beliefs? Not my fault that so much of what you want to believe is true just isn't.

Good business practice is to NOT get involved with controversy and never with politics or religion. Not sure how this will play out but IMHO it was not a smart move by Nike.

Highly disagree. What is the last example of a major corporation making a PR blunder and not recovering from it? Heck United had like 6 controversies in as many months and they their stock price has only gone up YTD. Nike isn't a major corporation, it is the market leader in many categories and I believe the global leader in apparel sales. They can do whatever they want.

These types of instances make me laugh due to the high levels of whiny hypocrisy. BOYCOTT! DESTROY THINGS IVE ALREADY PAID FOR. Idiots.

Guaranteed Nike did their analytics and predictive modeling due diligence on this.

Nike lost almost $4 billion in market cap today. Time will tell if the CK ads will do enough to offset the loss of business from folks who don't like police officers being called pigs.

Nike surely knows that their core customers aren’t 60 year old white guys with a high school education. They didn’t get to where they are by just throwing darts at a dartboard with decisions like this.

Talk about not have a clear understanding of who is offended by CK's actions. Wow.

Yes, and correlation does not equal causation. Unless of course you're desperate for something to validate your opinion.

Nike ended up down 2.6 today, Adidas 2.4. Puma 1.8

It's almost like a reasonable person would look at the information as a whole, not just cherry pick.

I provided information just like every other wall street publication did. Are you going around and telling them that they are desperate too? As I've said throughout this thread - time will tell if this was a good decision or not. And yet you think that sounds desperate. Me thinks you're either a Nike shareholder or someone consumed with white guilt...or both.

Talk about not having a clear understanding of CK's actions
Oh I have a very clear understanding of why he thinks he's protesting. And there can certainly be a debate on whether his reasons for protesting are legitimate and there can be a further debate on whether or not his protests accomplished anything. As one prominent black sports personality said today: "Told y'all from Day One this has always been about the money. All of it. Revolutionaries aren't sponsored by major corporations. It's been a hustle from the giddy-up."

You ignored every bit of information that countered your point and refused to view the day as a whole. Coming to the conclusion that the stock impact was because of Kapernick, and had to ignore what other major shoe companies did today.

I realize your gimmick on here is posting insane things and then digging in but at some point you have to be an adult and view things pragmatically, whether or notthey lead to the conclusion you want. Throwing a temper tantrum and accusing anyone of white guilt whose capable of looking at the situation pragmatically does not change the fact that you cherry picked to get to a conclusion.

If you're not Indy35 you have to be related. Let me repeat this to you for the third time. Every single market publication ran a story today about Nike losing $4 billion the day after they announced CK's new ad campaign. Did they ignore all of the information too? Again, its all over the news. Why are you acting as if I'm the only one discussing it?

Why not address the question? Other people said the same thing I said isn't a defense of your point. Neither is starting every post venting your creepy as hell obsession over some other guy on the board.

One of the the posts even say it's not clear if it has anything to do with Kaepernick lol. Did you even read these?

You clearly haven't read my posts on here and I'm tired of repeating myself so good night sir.
