Blough might have done enough to warrant a 7th round pick as a developmental backup but that would be an incredible stretch given he is kind of short. If he was 6’4 and 230, he’d be drafted on this year alone in the last two rounds.
Blough will be on a practice squad at least. He doesn’t have a ton of size, but in the right system (like Wilson) he could thrive.
The best chances at getting drafted are Barron, Edwards, Blough, Knox, Wright, Zico. If Bailey leaves early, the steak is without a doubt safe. Probably a 3-5 round pick, similar to Bentley who showed he was the real deal. But it seems more than likely that he stays, which would really benefit Purdue.
I like JT making a roster, but the injury could be worriesome for teams willing to take a chance. Likely undrafted. Blackmon could possibly make it a nickel. He was pretty fantastic in the red zone, and though he got beat a lot, that was with zero pass rush in man coverage. M. Jones is interesting as well, but as running backs are a dime a dozen, I don’t like his chances, even as good as he was. Seingler and Evans will be close, but less likely than the other 2 linemen. K. Jones may get some interest as well, but he is a little undersized.
Barron or Edwards seem the most likely. Edwards gets a slight nod being able to play Guard and Center as Centers are often undervalued. Blough is a wild card. He had a pretty incredible year and has had a very good career. The downside is that he doesn’t have the ideal size, and although he is pretty good within 50 yards, he doesn’t really have a cannon. Very Chad Pennington like when it comes to short range accuracy. He can get out of the pocket and scramble as well. If he was 6’4-6’5 and a little stronger arm on the deep ball, he would be getting drafted. The NFL cares more about measurables than production, which may keep him out.
