The question remains: who do we go after?

Meyer or Gruden is silly wishful thinking like IU is bringing in those type of coaches for basketball.I had high hopes for Walters and, at the same time, anticipated this to be a down year.
If we decide to clean house, who do we bring in?
What are the thoughts on Robert Selah. Urban Meyer, or Jon Gruden?
Brad Stevens is not replacing Woody??Meyer or Gruden is silly wishful thinking like IU is bringing in those type of coaches for basketball.
Chip Kelly might be on the hot seat.Urban Meyer will only return to coaching if it’s Ohio State.
Egg-on-your-face comment by Meyer at halftime of “The Game”…Ohio State has an advantage at the wideouts…and it’s not even close. You can plainly see it on the field. Then…the Buckeyes go out in the 2nd half and…score 0 points!🤣😂😧
way over rated coach, when he coached the Eagles they didn't care for him at all.Chip Kelly might be on the hot seat.
I was thinking about Stoops last night when I was reading about if Day gets canned, Kentucky would be a possible landing spot then Stoops is out there. Not that you give a heck what I think fellas, but what about Stoops at Kentucky? He is a good recruiter with strong Ohio ties, and is seasoned in leading teams that aren’t at the top of their power conferences. Kentucky fan base is wanting change. I think a good push for him could easily grab him up.
Tough game Saturday. Silver lining is your admin/BOT has zero place to hide after that. No nuance to hide behind… coach must go.
I know you will right the ship. Always do.

I don’t follow Kentucky closely but their fan base is ridiculous. They have had some troubling let downs but also had some inspiring performances. You guys will need to figure out the money issue. Doesn’t matter who you get at the helm if you don’t have any money for assistants. Today you gotta pay it to just find out. IU lucked into it but to their credit they recognized it and paid up. In my opinion, if you are going to bring guys in low and say “prove it”, you are gonna wait a looong time before you get lucky… I.e. IUI was thinking about Stoops last night when I was reading about if Day gets canned, Kentucky would be a possible landing spot then Stoops is out there.
If Day got canned, Purdue better be on the phone with his agent 5 minutes later.I was thinking about Stoops last night when I was reading about if Day gets canned, Kentucky would be a possible landing spot then Stoops is out there.
agree, the money will be there got to make a commitment esp since the BIG!10 ecpanded/I don’t follow Kentucky closely but their fan base is ridiculous. If iu, one of the worst football programs in NCAA history, can find $72M to commit to their head coach, money is not a problem for Purdue. iu has no, zero, none, football identity.I don’t follow Kentucky closely but their fan base is ridiculous. agree but do you think he'd want to stay in BIG10 say vs a Kentucky ?If Day got canned, Purdue better be on the phone with his agent 5 minutes later.
If he goes his ego won’t let him take a Kentucky type job… Auburn, Florida type team in my opinion.agree but do you think he'd want to stay in BIG10 say vs a Kentucky ?
IU also had a dream football schedule this year. No Penn State, Iowa, Oregon or Wisky.I don’t follow Kentucky closely but their fan base is ridiculous. Day wouldn't be canned until a loss in the CFP. I guess there's a chance they don't make the CFP, but I believe that comes out 12/8. Either way, there's no chance in hell Day is coming here.If Day got canned, Purdue better be on the phone with his agent 5 minutes later.
Napier got a vote of confidence and they got a little win streak goin onIf he goes his ego won’t let him take a Kentucky type job… Auburn, Florida type team in my opinion.
Yes…. And it usually doesn’t matter 😂😂😂… we were capable of losing games we should win. That said, it was stacked against us in the East/West setup. 4 losses built in every season under that setup. We were the chum for that division.IU also had a dream football schedule this year. No Penn State, Iowa, Oregon or Wisky.
iu is better than wisky and Iowa, they took advantage o f their schedule like we did when we got to the BIG10 Champ gameYes…. Ryan "Cooper" Day might be looking for a job shortly. The question remains: who do we go after? What do we say to attract them?
OSU is in the Playoffs even after that UGLY loss yesterday. They played 3 top five opponents this year which the Committee looks at favorably.Day wouldn't be canned until a loss in the CFP. Well you can only play those on the schedule. It did help us obviously. But I look at the bigger picture, and that reflects a change in IU’s football program for the good. Is it long lasting? Well that remains to be seen. If you want money for your other sports, which I think they are finally embracing, you can’t ignore the giant pile of concrete next to mecca…. I think most IU fans just want to be competitive instead of a perennial doormatiu is better than wisky and Iowa, they took advantage o f their schedule like we did when we got to the BIG10 Champ game
your last sentence says it all, don't want to be a doormat. Now I don't care for Fleck's antics all the time, but he's done a great job at traditionally lower to middling program in BIG10, almost every year has them hitting their ceiling along w/ some so so seasons but always competitive, that's what I want see, we'll never be up w/ the big boys every yearWell you can only play those on the schedule. But you went…. Can’t take it away and you had a chance to compete. Big10 is no longer beholden to OSU and Mich only. They have to be more pure in their decisions and not show out right favoritism. They still are the big guys on the block but there are new families in the neighborhood that must be accounted for… I’m hoping the officiating improves from week to week.iu is better than wisky and Iowa, they took advantage o f their schedule like we did when we got to the BIG10 Champ game
Exactly my point! Hopefully this is what IU will do after this basketball season. The up side is I usually receive nice steak dinners by placing my bet on Purdue winning.Brad Stevens is not replacing Woody??
money talksI doubt a current Power 5 coach would come to Purdue. They need to look at successful coaches at smaller schools, similar to what IU did....and just roll the dice.

Out here in Mountain West territory, Coach Odom's name has popped up for the Purdue job. If any truth at all, it could be announced in the days after the BSU-UNLV game tomorrow night, depending on how the game turns out. Though a very remote tie-in, I work with a former BSU player who is close to a couple of BSU coaches, and he was told this, by one of them. Most likely just rumor talk, but not out of possibility I guess.I doubt a current Power 5 coach would come to Purdue. I think we could do a hell of lot worse than Odom. He was a HC in the SEC before he was ready and now has done a pretty remarkable job at UNLV. He has what appear to be real up and comers as his coordinators, so if he can bring the staff, it could possibly be a strong hire.Out here in Mountain West territory, Coach Odom's name has popped up for the Purdue job. I agree. I read how I phrased my post and I should have worded it different. I think Odom may be a good get. I do think our AD won't go much higher than this level of conference head coach though. I think he is in another world with handling the football team, than most ADs would do.I think we could do a hell of lot worse than Odom. your upper is exactly mine too, same for realistic ones except for Martin ( 500% W/L on a MAC school)I think many can agree that Purdue can’t afford to hire another coordinator for the heading coaching job even if he’s great at his job. I believe you got to hire someone that can bring established coaches and players/recruits with. Obviously I would love to see some of those top guys on this list be the next head Coach but you got to be realistic too….so he’s my list of possible head coaching candidates. Hopefully no curveballs this time around and something is done by the end of the week!

Yes, I’m not big on hiring from the MAC either after the Hazel days but Martin has changed that Miami (Ohio) program around drastically. I’ve heard his name thrown around some so I put him on the list. I would prefer others way before him that’s for sure!your upper is exactly mine too, same for realistic ones except for Martin ( 500% W/L on a MAC school)
