Furst needs to be shooting a lot more that he is. He averaged 57.3 as a freshman, 51.3 as a Soph, he was way down as a Junior due to a lack of PT but he still shot at a 45% clip, and this year is at 57.1 percent.

As a Soph he had 161 bboards, and 194 points, his best overall season.

He can and has moved out and hit the three and has done well with the 8–10-footer.

Maybe there needs to be more plays for Furst and get him back to doing what he did as a freshman.

Get him the shots to bring him up to 12-14 per game.

No idea what happened to his shooting, but look at the 3pt% as a freshman. Now, when he is making a handoff or setting a screen few really focus on him where if able he could take the ball to the rim or deep enough to cause rotations. His mechanics are scary, but can't recall if they were in play his freshman year. Here is a thought...can you recall any player that played the 5 since Juan Johnson (can't recall if Calison was after him ) that could shoot anything other than a jump hook, drop step or up and under although Trey has a floater). Don't get me wrong those moves have served the 5s well, but what happens if you end up with two five skill sets playing at teh 4 &5 and they physically don't dominate the lane and now can't go out to 12 feet or so? No problem with Burgess and Jacobsen down the road, but today Caleb is only effective down low and when you sub with Cam...you still don't get a person that scores. I think Caleb will be key the rest of the season and wish I understood what happened to his shooting after his freshman year...like Myles...like Cam...

I’m not sure Furst has shot any 3’s or even 10 footers this season. Most of his points come from dunks or put backs.

He got plenty of chances last night, he fumbled a lot of them away.

There is a literal HUGE reason for this. Furst has always played with either a super athletic Big that demanded a double team, or one of the most Dominant players in a generation that was 7'4" and 300 lbs. It's much easier to get open when the other big is constantly drawing double teams. TKR does this to a certain extent, but not nearly as much as Williams or Edey did. Also unlike those two TKR is amazing at that 6-10 ft. range so they would overlap if he was in that same space. Another factor is that 10-12 feet out is also Fletcher and Braedens sweet spot for easy buckets too. Leaving Furst in our highest shot % part of the court would just clog things up for everyone else.

Also Smith gets him some amazing passes, but a lot of them are at waist level. That is really tough spot for a big man under the basket. Need to get it to him at head level or higher more so he can go straight to the hoop.

Please let Caleb focus on rebounding and defense. I’m not a proponent of throwing the ball to him or having him shoot. Generally less than positive things happens when he has the ball outside of rebounds. Just saying

He shoots a high percentage ONLY because he ONLY SHOOTS 2' shots. ;)
He doesn't (ever) shoot jumpers because he pretty much can't.
Look and stats and alot of the "best" shooters are centers that never do anything but dunk it and tip rebounds in.
