MSU getting whipped by KU

I watched as well, they seem to be a bit over ranked this year. Probably top 25 but not 13th
I'm sure they will rewarded for their two losses and go up in the polls while we will hang in the top 25 with the team that will prob be the 1 overall seed in the tourney

Exactly, they are suffering from jet lag and are down a couple of players so they are already getting sympathy from the media/voters.

It's probably way too early, but Purdue and IU both look like they are the top 2 teams in the conference. Should be great for the rivalry. For the strength of the conference, I hope Wisconsin and MSU are able to get rolling soon.

I suspect the MSU team we saw last night will be a dramatically different team come February/March. It's way too early to predict how the B1G will play out. But we will be in the thick of it.

Gotta give MSU credit, they aren't afraid to play top teams, glad Purdue is playing some this year in non conference games

Totally thought this was about Kansas (KU). I've always seen Kentucky as UK. Anyway, Kansas beat Duke last night too. Good games this early in the basketball season.

And with Duke losing and Oregon losing, IU might be top 3 next polls. Never would have thought that after losing Yogi. Again, good for the rivalry. Makes beating them all the more fun.

You are right. I promise you no Kentucky fan refers to their team as KU.

Right now, I would take Indiana and Purdue as the top 2 in the B1G. However, this isn't Izzo's first rodeo and he'll have them in the mix once the freshmen hit their stride, they figure out small ball, and the team gels. You can never count Wisconsin out either. Wisconsin didn't look good at Creighton but they'll be right there as the B1G season is winding down.

wisky also lost

Interesting stat line from that game:

Wisconsin shot poorly and was 11-39 from 3pt range, which included B Koenig's 3-13 from deep. Also, the Badgers only went to the line five times, making four. In addition, although they had a sizable rebound advantage, 16 turnovers certainly didn't help.

Ironically, that looks like a stat line from Purdue the last two years when Purdue struggled. Size advantage was wiped out and a horrible number of TO's and jacking up a number of 3's.

Also, BIG down 1-2 to Big East in the Gavitt Games. If it ends up a tie at 4-4 the BIG will be fortunate. Lots of lower tier teams from both conferences left to play.

I like the potential of the Gavitt Games but it feels a bit forced right now. I don't know if it's the matchups, only 8 games are played, or it's just too new. An Illinois/DePaul and X/MSU or IU game might have helped that.

It feels like an SEC/Big XII matchup with one big game (Nova/Purdue, KU/UK), a few regional rivalries, and rivalries from previous conferences.
