Look, I understand that the bench was completely useless, defense struggled at times, and Furst struggled to finish on multiple buckets. But to me, the officiating was absolutely atrocious. The fact that Purdue's front court fouled out for the only time this season was proof. Furst's fifth foil was an abomination. The most ridiculous stat of all was that, despite the insanely physical play of Michigan, Purdue drew only 14 total fouls and shot 8 free throws. Michigan shot 26, and Purdue's starters had 17 fouls.

Wolf, Tschetter, and Goldin were insanely physical. They pushed, grabbed, forearmed, and flopped over and over but saw no repercussions. At some point, you have to admit that biased officials are the cause of a loss, and tonight was that night. I haven't seen a worse performance since the Blake Griffin Oklahoma game many years ago.

Michigan had 6 fouls at the 7 min mark in first half and NEVER got called again for a foul. In second half at 7:45 mark had 6 fouls and somehow didn’t foul with how physical it was until 54 seconds left, which was probably more intentional because they wanted burgess at the FT line.

The difference in total fouls might beg further discussion but as I said I was not able to tape or watch the game!

Purdue received virtually no calls on shots at the rim while UM was given the benefit of multiple calls when shooting or shooting fouls where any contact was clearly well before the shot. Furst missed several shots at the rim but was fouled on most of them without any calls.

Michigan got the same whistle that we usually get at Mackey.

C'mon man. Furst is an athletic 6'10 guy who can get above the rim. He's just not strong with the ball once he gets there.

Gotta love the "holier than thou" crowd. Yeah, Purdue could have won despite the calls. But to claim that the massive disparity in foul calls that directly led to arguably the best player on the team sitting down the stretch is a naive take. And no, the refs didn't make Michigan lose by 27 at Mackey. What a ridiculous implication. Purdue fans not blaming the refs are in denial.

How do you defend when you know they'll call a foul? How do you go to the rim when you know you'll get bodied and hacked with zero whistle? It completely changed the game.

You're not actually serious are you? He may be awkward and fumble the ball way too often but he plays harder and more physical than about anyone we have.

But his soft attacks to the rim with the ball in hand and hesitant moves in scoring position is just weak...especially for a senior playing for pride on his way out...

TKR becomes just the 3rd post player (6'9+) in the last 18 seasons to attempt 19+ 2-pointers, but foul out and never shoot a free throw.

It’s not a lack of grit. He’s just not a good 2 foot leaper, and he doesn’t possess exceptional natural strength, like a Trevion or Zach. He’s built like a normal person, he just happens to be 6’-9”.

He can’t jump straight up off two feet, quickly, and get much above the rim. He’s a much better one foot leaper.

I agreed with that statement in large part until the last 6 weeks. He's been easily our grittiest player prior to last night in 2025.

1) CMP has harped over and over about the need for TKR to play smarter and avoid needless fouls— last night, unfortunately the chickens came home to roost….

2) Caleb’s effort is beyond reproach, but he was a bull in a China shop last night: consistently out of control, with zero ability to finish.

3) Neither Myles nor Cam stepped up when they were desperately needed on offense.

IMO if even ONE of these three self-imposed f&ck-ups didn’t occur, we are celebrating a win today, and the ridiculously one-sided officiating is a moot point.

The refs totally sucked, but IMO Purdue lost this game all on its own.
