Its a shame the Congress won't legislate a stand alone compromise.....
1. Add free childcare for working families under $75k.
2. Take away some other giveaway(s) of relatively same budgetary amount as #1 that incentivises people not to work.
That kind of compromise would likely appeal to all (except the extreme radical partisans on each side), and most importantly help poor and middle class American families and America get back to work.
Trouble is corrupt politicians always want to add programs and NEVER delete any.
And actually, that is part of the problem when you draw an arbitrary line like that. I would've been better off taking a pay cut then to get below that threshold. My youngest is in 1st grade now, so it wouldn't apply, but that is what I hate about these programs and the arbitrary line they set and I've dealt with it a lot with my daughter. She was born with a cleft lip and palate. Before she was born, we heard about all these great programs that would help us. Turned out we were just over the threshold so had to scrape up money to pay for it all ourselves.
