A familiar face is set to be back in Mackey Arena. Madison Layden-Zay has announced she will return to Purdue women’s basketball for next season.

Layden did not play in 2024-25, but will return to use her extra year of eligibility.

If we can get at least 10 ppg and 5 rpg - it's a very solid pick up. Hopefully she is healthy and has a renewed passion for the game because she looked completely worn out the last time she put on the jersey here. She helps our shooting and probably the reason why Swanson opted for the portal. She may have felt a little betrayed by the staff considering she thought she'd be the main shooter/wing next year and that's not the case with Madison returning.

Nice to have Madison back, the shooting will definitely be needed and she was a smart player too. She took care of the rock, didn't force mistakes, and was an underrated passer like her sister. Glad to see her return!

Or Swanson didn't like playing behind someone who was clearly inferior to her as a bball player in Collier.

Guessing Katie Davidson is added soon, thoughts?
Makes me want to say just another indication of how low our expectations are for incoming players. We aren't going to move up the standings with mid-level players. And before anyone says why would a high-major player come here, I'm not saying they will. But these types should be practice players on Big 10 squads.

I threw that name out of thin air - there's no smoke that she is in real consideration of being added.

I saw her name along with some girl with the last name Ivey from BC on the Depot page on this site. She’s an All Conference D-1 player that put up good numbers. It would be a much better add than Collier was last year.

My apologies if I wasn’t supposed to post that to Dub!

Kaylah Ivey - Averaged 5 ppg and 5 apg for BC. Would be a great true PG get - I'm sure there will be competition for her. The one thing we have to offer others don't - unlimited minutes at the point position.

Madison has demonstrated she can be a real contributor. She did not seem to have her heart in the game during her last year. If she comes back with real zeal, she can be a real asset to the team.

I saw she had a few games where she scored 15-20
Points as well, hope they get her.
