Purdue sent out an email this afternoon about the upcoming reseating of Mackey Arena for the '22-'23 season. Many of you probably received it, but if not, here are some details. There's a link at the bottom to another page with still more.

Boilermaker Fans,
Thanks to an incredible fan base and student body support, Mackey Arena is firmly established as one of the top venues in college basketball. At the conclusion of the 2021-22 season, Boilermaker fans will have stretched the Arena’s sellout streak to an amazing 41 consecutive games.

“As head coach Matt Painter’s teams continue to achieve ever-increasing success, interest in the program and the demand for tickets to home games have correspondingly grown,” said Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, Mike Bobinski. “Accordingly, and in an effort to most fairly allocate tickets, the Department of Athletics will conduct a reseating process of Mackey Arena in advance of the 2022-23 season.”

The last Mackey Arena reseat occurred ahead of the 2016-17 season, and the intended timeline is to reseat the facility on a five-year basis. Last year’s planned reseat was deferred a year due to the challenges and disruptions in fan attendance and circumstances caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, but the department hopes to return to a five-year cycle in the years ahead.

Since the 2016-17 reseat, prices for Purdue Men’s Basketball season tickets have only increased by an average of $59 per seat – just over $3 per game – across every price point in Mackey Arena. Through our pricing strategy, Purdue Athletics continues to prioritize offering affordable season tickets for the local community and beyond.

Some specifics about the 2022-23 reseating process:
  • - John Purdue Club (JPC) priority points will be utilized to rank season ticket holders and assign timeslots for seat selection.
  • - The Arena’s most affordable seats will only increase in price at a rate of $1.65 per game.
  • - Purdue student seating will remain the same in number and location.

The deadline to make a donation to earn JPC priority points that will impact this reseat is April 30, 2022. At that time, JPC points will be locked and timeslots will be assigned based on priority point ranking. Timeslots for seat assignments will be determined and communicated in mid to late-May, and the reseating process will begin in mid-June.

Additionally, the 2022-23 season will feature revamped and enhanced Courtside premium seating opportunities.

Premium enhancements slated for completion ahead of the 2022-23 season include:
  • - Additional seats available in Courtside rows 2-6.
  • - Seats will feature a slightly wider and updated version of the current theater-style seating with added charging capabilities.
  • - Center Courtside seats will move closer to arena floor.

All club and courtside premium seats include access to the Spurgeon Club starting two hours prior to tipoff. Courtside seat holders may also access the all-inclusive Wooden Club, presented by the Risk Family, located at the top of the Mackey Arena tunnel in the heart of the action. The Wooden Club is scheduled to be renovated and expanded prior to the 2023-24 season.
