This is fantastic. Edwards with 3pts and still taking it to them! Keep your foot on the gas and on their neck in second half.
37-19 @ half.....wow...most active Boilers defense I've seen in a while.....feeding off the crowd too.....Michigan State helped out with some poor shooting as well. Need the same intensity the next 20 minutes.

Gotta love it because if whizzo changes and tries to limit others, CE will go off. All thanks to the player development of the bench.

Williams was good. Harms was fantastic. I am feeling good about my key to the game being the front court. Hope it continues!

Exactly. A huge difference from last time we played them where Edwards had to try to do everything because everyone else besides Williams looked shell shocked but not today. Plus Edwards is not letting his poor shooting affect his defense like it did in East Lansing. Has been very active
He may have a meltdown. Probably come back from halftime with red rimmed eyes, with a play for officiating sympathy...

Maybe..But if Purdue keeps it up on both ends I think Izzo just might find his whining doesn’t work. Refs may play it straight if we’ve earned the benefit of the doubt....

I think we were up 20 at the half Hammons senior year and had to gut out an overtime win with a Hammons rebound on missed free throw

What a half. And we didn't even really shoot the ball that well (39%). But I thought we controlled the tempo. Helps a lot when the opponent shoots 23% though.
The chances of MSU continuing to shoot 23% is about slim to none. We did a good job of controlling the pace of the game - we can't start trying to run with them, get fancy/flashy (by the way, kudos to Hunter on the layup).

If we shoot 39% in the second half - that gives MSU quite an opening to come back. Edwards may have a bit more freedom in the second half, but he needs to be more efficient. MSU's not gonna fold - gotta keep playing smart. Hopefully the whistles don't come out in a flurry in the second half. MSU is strong at the line - they aren't gonna be like IU.

Unfortunately, Izzo has never experienced his whining not impacting the game. I'll be shocked if we see otherwise today.
M$U is going to make a run, they are too good not to, just have to play our game in the second half and send whizzo home crying.

Half of it is controlling the tempo. Winston got more than half his points on offensive rebounds or fast breaks. We did a good job of avoiding fast breaks - where it got dangerous was when Eastern/Edwards went back to back forcing things early trying to run. We aren't gonna keep up trying to run with them. We need to control the tempo as MSU thrives on the break.

Both teams are actually shooting poorly - Purdue is just not horrible like MSU was. If Purdue shoots 39% and MSU just has an average half for them, the game will get back to even.
