... just now while being interviewed by Vitale during St. Mary's - Gonzaga game. But oh no, don't dare question what comes down, this is all an objective process! After all, how good can B1G be if Purdue won by 2 games?! Wait til next year, when IU, MSU, and OSU are back, then the B1G champ will get seeded like a major.

He is a jackass! Just look at him. I grew up in IN and played basketball at a state power back in the day. You don't see me trying to come off as an expert, nor should I. He is no better than the soccer refs I see these days that could never come close to playing at the level they are reefing at but want to tell everyone how well they know the game. I am ranting a little but it happens sometimes. Its prop having to listen to the ass hat Dickie V that's got me wound up.

It might be true (3 seed is a long-shot) but Lunardi is still a no-talent, a$$-clown. I don't think he's ever come close to actually seeding the tournament field with 100% accuracy. I'm not a big Palm fan either, but at least he gets closer to getting all of the seeding for the teams correct.

I don't think Lunardi is right. 13th right now and win the big ten tourney we might be 9/10 range. RPI is 17th and a lot of teams could drop after their tourneys it is an outside shot we land in top 12 in that but the committee shouldn't only look at RPI

How can you not like Palm he has loved Purdue the last few years

Correction RPI has fallen to 19. Don't know how I believe they were 17 right after their win at NU

I think a 3 is possible if we win the BTT. Probably need some help but I don't get Lunardi making such a strong statement. It shows he has us as the lowest 4 seed in his bracket.

Not that there aren't qualms, but this is exactly how we acted last year - and everyone on here thought we were going to be a better seed than we were.

Winning the conference by 2 games may actually be as much of a detriment - Maryland and Wisconsin really fell off the rails down the stretch. Before that, the Big Ten had 3 solid teams to go with the others - recently, it hasn't looked that way...

Good point but one small issue...IU won't be back next year.
Sure they will...haven't you read that Donovan is signed, sealed and delivered with a $20 million contract for five years, and will be on campus right after IU's next loss. Missouri is salivating at having the mediocre Tommy McClapperson, and have signed him to a lifetime contract at $7,000,000 per. It's all on the new IU Rivals forum. Oh, and RMK is coming back to be an assistant to Donovan.

Where did you play?

I can't speak for what everyone thought last year but I can say it ended up about where I expected and I don't remember too many people speculating that we would be anything higher than a "4 OR 5" which that difference frankly matters very little and most people don't care to debate.

Give me Dickie V over Dan Dakich any day. Dakich is a moron. He about makes my ears bleed every time I listen to him.

What's up with his hair?

Dickie V doesn't flat out insult kids and act like he is a genious coach. That's why I can't stand Dakich

Just last night, Gonzaga vs. Saint Marys, the MVP of the WAC, a player on Gonzaga, air-balled a wide open 15 ft jumper, and Dickie V started chanting "AIR BALL, AIR BALL, AIR BALL" on national television, ESPN.

Chanting air ball and insulting a guys talent are not similar. Dakich is always calling guys lazy and saying they are terrible at this or that. I know he has been kind about Purdue recently but I still can't stand him talking about young kids like he does.

I think the Boilers will have blow-out their opponents in their (hypothetical) Friday and Saturday games to have a chance of getting a 3.

Kids these days are soft and DD calls it as he sees it. It is hard to get out of coaching mode and he coached under and played for BK. If a player didn't get back or was lazy, much worse was said. Everything is handed to a lot of athletes and selfish basketball has been the result. I have no problem with him calling out a kids performance as he sees it. Why should an announcer only have to praise every kid. Should the NCAA start handing out participation trophies to all the kids too?

Some of these kids are going to be 22! (JBJ)

I agree with the sentiment, but that's not DDs job. It's the coaches, parents, etc.

I'd like a 3 seed if it meant playing our first two games in Indianapolis. Otherwise, I don't care what seed we are.

UK and UL probably have Indy locked down.
If the committee sticks to the s-curve for bracketing purposes, the #1 4 seed (13th overall) might be a pretty good place to be. As a 4 seed, you have a 1-in-3 chance of facing a 12 seed in the second round. Then you'd be matched up with the lowest 1 seed, likely Gonzaga, which is probably a better matchup than any of the 2 seeds. Of course with on all the other bracketing rules (avoiding intra conference, avoiding rematches), the #4 and #13 teams may not get placed in the same region.
If Purdue got a 4 seed in the Milwaukee pod with Gonzaga as our region's #1 seed, that would be just fine by me.

FDB,

I'd sign up for that right now, too. Of course, when the bracket came out last year....at the time, I thought it was a pretty good draw for both Purdue and Michigan State under the circumstances....so you never really know for sure.

Purdue and MSU had fantastic draws last year and choked them away so you never know what will happen.

I'm ready to start dreaming about a 3 seed with Gonzaga being the 2 in our bracket.
