Kevin Sumlin will be your next HC

Rumor going around
Certainly makes sense...

More amusing would be if they hired Schiano...even more amusing would be if they hired Les Miles.

If Brohm leaves, it has more to do with what UT offers and Purdue does not, be that actual money or all else that surrounds the respective programs.

If he does leave, it does not take away from what he accomplished this year and for providing one of the most enjoyable football seasons at Purdue in some time.

86-43 and never having an overall losing record despite being part of the SEC at TAMU is comparable to DH and DH2?
Okay, maybe DH1....but look at Sumlin's overall record of works and you'll see why he was fired. Not a very good coach at all where he should have had success because of what the school brings to the football table.

The guy just got fired for his inability to win games. Look at his overall history before wanting Sumlin, who would be no better than DH and DH 2
Your kidding right? Kevin Sumlin has won nearly 70% of his games in the SEC (.662) and your going to equate him to DH and DH2!?
I'd take Kevin Sumlin and his hand picked assistants anyday as he BLEEDS BLACK & GOLD. He knows Indianapolis (his hometown) and the efforts it would take to get us back to solid ground. A former Purdue player, a coach that has had very good success in the Joe Tiller coaching tree + Houston + Texas A&M.
I cannot put a better coach's name forward with the exception of Les Miles and Les doesn't bleed Black & Gold. Les would get our defense on par, but offense he'd have to bring in an innovator as his track record does not exhibit it.

Again....he was fired for not doing the job he was hired to do. There's no reason to believe he's going to have success in West Laffy if he can't win at a powerhouse when given everything he needed to win.

We also have to remember Burke is long gone, let's give Bobinski who hand picked Brohm and got him here to also keep him here. So far he has an excellent track record, and has shown a complete commitment to Football.

12 of the 13 schools chasing Alabama's success is not realistic but they all are except Vandy. In two or four years the SEC will have another turnover 4-5 coaches due to their unrealistic dreams!

Texas A & M Football by the numbers: Sourced link noted is valid as of 6/30/2017 prior to this season.
https://sportsday.dallasnews.com/co...06/30/breaking-texas-ams-first-five-years-sec

A look at A&M's transition into the SEC
.515: Texas A&M's winning percentage between 2007 and 2011
.676: A&M's winning percentage since joining the SEC
44: The number of total wins since 2012, the fourth-most in the SEC
2: The number of SEC teams that have had one head coach and never had a sub-.500 season. Alabama is the other school.

16: Number of weeks A&M was ranked in the AP poll between 2007 and 2011
50: Number of weeks A&M was ranked in the AP poll since 2012
3: Times A&M was ranked in the AP Top 10 between 2007 and 2011
24: Times A&M was ranked in the AP Top 10 since 2012
4-16: Record vs. AP Top 25 between 2007 and 2011
9-11: Record vs. AP Top 25 since 2012

I think that is a very solid record in that conference. He was fired for not winning the SEC mulitiple times & a National Championship period. That is SEC mindset crazy.

You say, "not good enough". I say here is the pen, sign right here please...ink him and get him here if Brohm leaves.

Guys, you're responding to a troll. Look at his name....7 11 employee?

If he's able to do with Purdue what would he did in A&M I would take it any day of the week or year no questions asked.

If Sumlin is interested and wants to be the HC, I would hope Mbob would require a known offensive mind like Bob Stitt to push the offensive side again as that is a proven way to win and be successful at Purdue. The one positive, Sumlin might be a better overall recruiter than Brohm is right now.

If Burke was still here I'd assume Brock Spack, but the new guy will probably conduct a legit search, if Brohm does actually leave.

Why isn't Tennessee looking at Sumlin? He is familiar with the league and had decent success at A&M.

For one, he's a fall-down drunk with no brakes. Another, he's had more talent than UT and done less over the last few years. Lastly, he's just not a good fit. That's my opinion, but there are Vol fans who would take him anyway.

Yeah, winning at a .666 would be no better than DH or DH2. TIC, of course.

He got fired for not winning the SEC, I'm pretty sure he won enough for Purdue.

In 4-5 years, Saban will be gone and the league will be even again....save Auburn and Clemson.

I've always considered you to be one of the dumbest posters here, and you just lost the last shred of credibility you had going for you.

You're now and forever known as the guy who thought Clemson was in the SEC. Congrats.
