couple items of note wanted to get out ASAP:
  • Asked if he was done adding players for the fall, Brohm said "no." He wouldn't elaborate much other than to say it's an "older gentleman" who would be eligible to play immediately.
  • Brohm said freshman Giovanni Reviere had foot surgery recently and is likely out for the season. Freshman cornerback Jacob Abrams also recently had surgery to repair meniscus damage and is out 3-4 weeks. But he'd impressed in the summer, so he could still be a factor once he's cleared.
  • Players won't be staying in the dorms for training camp, unless they're freshmen and already in the dorms, Brohm said. That's what we'd heard. Brohm said he's never had players stay in the dorms in camp because as a player's coach, he wouldn't want to stay in a tiny bed if he didn't have to.
  • Still, players will "report" to camp Aug. 2 and the first practice will be Aug. 3.
  • Eric Swingler is on scholarship now, after having been a walk-on. I'd heard Antonio Blackmon also was put on scholarship, but Brohm said nope.
  • Corey Holmes should be reporting to campus soon, maybe as early as Friday, Brohm said. Holmes told me recently his last class at Notre Dame finishes July 27, so that could be accurate.
