It cracks me up that some don't like this pick up but were all excited about possibly landing Persons. Hill is a much better option and a much better option than Thompson and Weatherford as well. If he doesn't start, it's because CMP decided to go with a Mathias or Davis at PG.

Hill and Persons are two separate issues. Persons would not be eligible for next year, his recruitment is a long term option for 3 years of play but he is forced to redshirt next year. Hill is the 5th year that can play immediately.

I could see Thompson spot-starting at times (maybe if there's an injury or such).

Someone on Twitter posted side by side stats between Octeus and Hill and they were very comparable. If anything, Hill had slight advantages albeit against worse competition. I suspect we will be pleasantly surprised by Hill.
