Reality comes to town Alabama

i don't know whether Berg is slow physically or slow to see what is going on to react, such as pass from Smith under basket hits him in head or ball off rim hits him in head or chest, maybe just needs more playing time.
I agree that his minimal playing time at this level results in too much thinking through the game instead of just playing. He needs more time so as they say the game slows down for him.

This might be a game where Smith decides that he has to be the man.
Loyer needs to stay hot from 3.
Would like to see Colvin and Heide use their athleticism more in getting to the rim/paint (broken record).
5 guys gotta hit the defensive glass. Can't give up a bunch of offensive rebounds.
One of the bigs besides TKR might have to be special. I think Furst has his best game in 2 years.

Anyone else think TKR and Berg both look slower than last year? TKR has put on a lot of muscle but he seems to have less burst. Berg still trying to figure out the speed of the game. He has to be ready for when Braden creates and guys come to help or block Smith's shot, will open up the lane.

Agreed.

And TKR looks the same if not quicker on his moves. I think we just need him to step his defense. He doesn’t seem to really be that great on that side of the ball. Berg looks just as slow and like others have mentioned, seems to not process (yet) at the speed he needs to in order to be successful. Hopefully, as the season goes on both will get better. TKR is already really good on offense but we haven’t seen nothing yet.

Alabama basketball selling out tickets at home − and on the road

”We’re playing some good basketball programs. We chose to go play Purdue. We got to go play Carolina in the SEC/ACC challenge,” Oats said, calling the two “very good basketball schools.”

“They have great tradition. So I don't want to just assume because it's us that they're sold out,” Oats said.

Yeah Nate…Mackey is sold out only cuz it’s Alabama. Not like there’s been close to if not more than 60 sell outs prior to this game.

Only cuz Alabama, great to be in love with oneself living in a fantasy

I see lines of Alabama -1.5 and -2.5. Mine isn't out yet but I'm sure it'll be right there too.

I think Alabama is going to really put pressure on Braden tonight , so it's going to be imperative to have a second ball handler , it will be a good test for our freshman guards. Also going to be a big night for 3's, to have shot at winning this. IMO.

TKR guarding Nelson will also be huge. Can’t have TKR in foul trouble and we know Alabama is going to go right at him.

I am far less concerned about our pace than I am about defense. We have youth struggles that will get ironed out as the season progresses.

My biggest concern is the number of unforced errors. Smith launching a pass to Loyer, who wasn't looking, is a prime example.

I expect two losses in a row.
Okay, so how is crow best served?

Roasted?

Who did I miss ?
Great Team win , a lot of D work to do , but it will come.
Agreed.

TBH, i thought Berg was great those first few mins to start the game before his 2nd foul. Now, it’s not where we need him….but HUGE improvement. Lots of energy and physicality.

Not being mean here, but he can’t jump high, so he needs to just box out his man to get the board. But I like the improvement I saw from him tonight.

The only “reality that came to town” was Purdue’s dominance in the nation’s most ferocious home court environment….

Purdue brought significantly less than its best offensively, and it was still more than enough to decisively beat Alabama!

Reality came and saw the light 🤣

I hope people now can see (the doubters) that Purdue is still really, really good! Some are just so impatient! That was a senior led team too for the most part. BE PROUD OF WHERE OUR GUYS ARE!

Colvin being a factor without taking a shot MAYbe the biggest story in our teams trajectory for this season.
I don't love taking the wrapping off already this season, I thought we'd surprise a few teams first.
But being hunted should start to be the expectation for the Boilers. ;)

It certainly was a senior laden team. I am glad it will be the last time, unless in March, that we see the former Rutgers player #11.
I will take CMP's recruiting style over the portal built teams.
