From what I understand the way they repaired-built it will give him a 24 inch vertical jump off that leg. This is great news.
I heard he'll be the 1st cyborg above 7' ....
I haven't heard anything specifically but I've always heard it's much better to break a bone than to tear soft tissue. I'd expect he will come back from this just fine.
Yeah, that's a concept that as a non-athlete, has never quite made sense to me over the years, but it is true. And we know that the timeframe was actually close to him being back this season. So I'd look for a clean bill of health going into the summer.
Going back to when I had young kids, I certainly hope they repaired it with a Go-Go-Gadget leg!

Yeah, I was hit hard recently. In my senior HS year there were four of us that met once or twice a week to play cards. When one of us passed this summer, I realized that I was the last one standing.
I lost three great buddies in the past year. It hits hard. I keep in close touch with my Doc of 44 years
I don't know if you remember in the early seventies, Rick Miles took over as the voice of Purdue football. His dad was the voice before him. Rick moved around some, being program manager for a major Indy radio station, coached some great girls' basketball teams, and ended up as the head of the Houston ESPN office. He fought cancer for a couple of years, enjoyed some great European cruises, but lost his battle about a year ago. One of my very best friends over the long haul.

Prob a dumb question, but the medical redshirt will be in effect and thus we will still get four years from him starting next year, correct?
Medical redshirt is only available once eligibility is used up. He will be eligible for it, but technically he can't just call this year his medical redshirt year. He has to use his remaining 3 years + (optional) redshirt before that
