I actually think it was laudable for Izzo to reach out. Sounds like Appling made some bone-headed mistakes but is trying to put the pieces back together. I hope he does.

I will say one thing. He might be in jail serving a much longer sentence if not for Izzo.

Well, Appling teamed up with his buddy to allegedly rape that girl while he was on the team, and he got away with that. Then he got arrested for gun charges. Then got arrested again. Then got arrested a third time for that. So obviously, he has learned his lesson now. All anomalies, and not a pattern, I am sure.

Might have been more laudable to not enable his criminal behavior for 4 years between the ages of 18-22.

Since we are discussing problems with law, anybody ever see an update on the legal status of Lewis Jackson? I remember he was arrested for possession of 2+ ounces of heroin and said he was innocent and that he had been asked by another to transport a backpack from Chicago to Detroit. That was over a year ago but I never found updates on the story.

Case is set tomorrow, 12/18/17 for a pretrial conference last I saw...
