It should have been a non story. As a fan base who cares what Dakich says. Go out and prove him wrong or just go out and continue to support your team. Izzo is cracking and responding to a harmless jab from Dakich shows it.

What he said about MSU fans is true. That much isn't even really in dispute. Whether it is appropriate for him to say it is a separate issue.
Joe Paterno won a bunch too. I'd label him a fraud just the same.
I literally wouldn't care what he said about Purdue because I know he is just trying to stir the pot and further his own agenda .If what he said was true about Purdue then so be it and if it was false then it's just another thing I don't agree with him on. It's why I don't follow him or listen to any of his shows. I basically can't stand him nearly 99% of the time but in this particular incident I don't disagree with him.

I don't know if I would call Izzo a fraud or not but a coach can certainly win and win a lot and still be a fraud as far as being a quality or genuine person is concerned away from the court or field.
Not off base about admissions standards. You are incorrect. UM has much higher standards than MSU. I know for a fact this is true.
He is a fraud in the very sense that he tries to portray himself as something (or someone) that he absolutely is not.
That program has been (and is) littered with guys that not only lacked character, but were flat out bad and misguided individuals...and he likes to portray himself as some bastion of morality.
A guy that is great at getting talented kids to come and play for him...absolutely...a guy that has had tremendous success in terms of winning basketball games...no doubt about it...all at a cost though, and he is a fraud from the perspective that he tries to not only ignore that, but deny it.

Dakich is probably right. Acceptance rate at Michigan is around 28%, while MSU's is 66%. Purdue's is around 60%. It's funny, IU has the highest acceptance rate in the Big Ten which is 78%. It actually has the highest in the state. Ball St. is lower.
My MSU buddy has confirmed this to me. Denied by UM and it broke his heart.
