That missed fg to end the game reminded me of Dorsch missed fg in the 2000 outback bowl where it went right over the upright. IMO Dorsch's kick was 'more good' than this one.

I agree that the two of Dorsch's Outback 2000 kicks were " more good than i.u.'s tonight, and had the very same thought at the time.
Their free football board. Freaking about the refs, Wilson's playcalling, their terrible D. Funny stuff.

The kick was obviously wide. As for the IU team, they struggled to beat the two worst teams in the B10 at the end of the season to get to a bowl game, and coupled with the sure cupcake wins to begin the season, they really had no reason to be playing in a bowl game. But, their uber-intelligent AD will give Wilson a big raise, a long extension, and we'll all be assured that IU football in all it's "drunken stupor" will continue to suck.
Harsh. And by that, I mean using "IU" and "Grad" in the same sentence.
As far as the game goes, I was impressed at both teams ability to get up and down the field. Defense was not played, but clutch plays were made by both sides. It made me sad to realize that if Purdue was in this game, our horizontal passing offense, also known as the run/run/pass/punt scheme would have probably put up 14 pts and we would have been blown out.
I long for some relevance in the B1G football scene....
And I don't foresee it happening anytime soon.

The kick was not "obviously" anything or it would not be such a topic of debate in and outside of IU and Duke supporters. As for the schedule, they played one good team in preseason and Ohio, msu, UM, Iowa and Penn st. Don't be such a hater...it is a stinky cologne.

That kick was the culmination of many mistakes made by the "Oosiers", most notably not being able to stop anyone on the Duke team defensively. You know, like Crean's boys.

At least we agree on my main point, it wasn't "obviously" anything. It was indeed one of many errors made in the game.
It was pretty obviously wide if you understand the camera angle from the middle of the goalposts is not an accurate way to determine whether it was good or not.

It wasn't "pretty obviously" anything outside of too high to be reviewed. There is a mechanical concept a PU grad taught me a decade ago called Parallax View which is the true explaination of a bad angle. The only true view with no parallax is straight up which is what one ref had but we have not seen. The view we have from five or six feet to the right (context from behind the assembly) looks good and the Parallax concept would reinforce that.
"Obviously"...this is what I would expect Duke and PU fans to say. Gotta love fans.

The comments below the clip seem to support my only point here that nothing was obvious and people without dogs in the fight ( IU, Duke, PU excluded) seem to disagree.

There's no explanation. It wasn't good. You can sit there and look at it. But when I saw the scoreboard, to me, it looks like it travels outside the bar, hooks in, on the other side of the goal post. Bottom line, you don't win a lot of games with field goals. And you really don't win games when you miss five scoring opportunities.

Wilson, for all his shortcomings...generally takes the high road (he never complained after the Ohio game last play) and points out as he correctly does here, that if you need to depend on 35 yard field goals in OT after botching so many opportunities...you take your chances.
I feel bad for the seniors, but the rest need to build from here.
I got to see your basketball team play about 35 minutes after the IU game at BLF. I know it was not a great game for the team, but obviously a very solid squad especially up front. Having a Haas and Hammonds to rotate is quite a luxury and Davis is a lock down defender. Whomever he guards in Btown is pretty much erased from the game from a scoring standpoint.

As much as it pains me to say I'm not sure WE could do any better than Wilson right now. I know it is not a popular opinion here, but he is dangerously close to getting that dog of a program over the hump. Probably just a few decent defenders short of a passable defense, which is all they really need.
I hear that Haze is scheduling a field trip to Bloomington to see the Bucket in person! TwinDegrees will be there too passing out his life-sized CMP blowup dolls. Should be fun for everyone.

The same loser who has beaten Purdue three years in a row? I dont understand what all the hate could be about except jealousy that you are sitting home while your coach is reviewing the tape for next year and promoting coaches from within, since noone else will touch the jobs with a lame duck coach in place.
I've seen PU have a winning record and win a bowl game. Can you say the same about a Wilson coached team....or any IU team for that matter?
