As highly ranked as they were, IU's freshmen are playing like freshmen. It will be interesting to see whether IU can get a 2nd year out of them, with huge improvement. Otherwise, recruiting one-and-dones that don't take you far in the tournament is a waste of scholarships. If they end up losing, that will end their "comeback" about Purdue's March performance.
Especially because they may not make the March tournament.
Good One!I thought the fans were going to rush the court. But all 22 of them were too drunk to get up.
50 December losses to Morehead do not equate to what we "accomplish" in MarchIf they end up losing, that will end their "comeback" about Purdue's March performance.

From what I saw, KU played their worst half all year and IU played one of their best. Was weird to see the Hall of Calls get uno reversed on IU in the second half and some bad calls went more in KU’s favor.I was at the game. Family is IU fans. IU is absolutely terrible. Can't shoot, drive, rebound or make free throws. We a should beat them by 20. No clue how they kept it close with Kansas.
Yeah I was busy so I didn't watch any of the Kansas game. I know watching them in person tonight that they will be lucky to finish in the middle of the B1G.From what I saw, KU played their worst half all year and IU played one of their best. Another horrible crowd for them, there might have been 10,000 people there tops. After they couldn’t draw anyone in NY, Atlanta or Indy, they can’t even get anyone to see them in Bloomington. Their buy a team approach isn’t working very well. Crazy how far that program has fallen.I thought the fans were going to rush the court. But all 22 of them were too drunk to get up.
I watched the game because there was nothing else on that was worth watching and wanted to see how much IU would win by…def did not expect that.KS played well below their curve.... especially on D where they let iu Guard go to his strong hand over and over, creating a career high for him.
It is amazing iu beat Morehead by 1. We waxed them by 30. And our reserves were a big part of that score. Did not watch the iu game last night. Would say that is fairly embarrassing for iu, but I am sure they considered storming the court in celebration of their monumental win?

It honestly felt like they were going to storm the court. Lots of open seats and no student section.KS played well below their curve.... especially on D where they let iu Guard go to his strong hand over and over, creating a career high for him.

The did not play good at the end. Moorehead just literally could not make a Y shot at all. And almost every trip down the floor for IU it was called a foul. Most were fouls but some were pretty soft.As much as they struggled for much of the game, they played well the final 8 minutes or so to pull out the W. Good for them to avoid a bad loss, and good for the B1G.
2 gamesHow about we tone down the “IU is terrible” sh!t talking until we break the 3 game losing streak to them?
And we’ve won 13 of the last 17. A two game winning streak by them is pretty insignificant. You’re right. 3 of the last 4 though.

I caught the second half and echo the same points. Ware is regressing to his mean. Galloway can’t be their #1 scorer. Mgbako is good but still raw and uninterested on the defensive side. Cupps will be good in a year or 2 as a floor general but scoring won’t be his thing. Lot of IU folks saying their body language looks like a group who doesn’t like playing together. Guess that’s the challenge with the NIL deals and promises of playing time.I watched the game because there was nothing else on that was worth watching and wanted to see how much IU would win by…def did not expect that.
IU was 3-16 from 3 and awful from the foul line. The Ware from last year showed up and seemed to want to be anywhere but playing bball. Reneau stil can’t figure out how to play defense without fouling. Cupps is equivalent to what Morton is and is being forced to play way too many mins. Mack had a very poor shooting night and looked lost still on defense—very good FT shooter tho, I’d say best in the country. Gallo was back to his old self and shot it ok, but if you have to rely on him to score, you’re in trouble. Thankfully for them, Walker had his best game at IU. He hit a big 3 (his first of the year) and actually hit his FTs. The rest of their bench continues to not produce much.
Lathon did have a career day and made tough shots, however IU’s 3pt defense continues to be bad and allows wide open 3s—which MSU missed a good amount down the stretch. MSU had this game won but threw it away by not scoring for the last 6-7 mins of the game and IU went on a 15(17?)-0 run.
With that said, I fully expect an IU guard/forward to have a career day vs us, their team all of a sudden able to hit 3s and us to shoot poorly haha.

Yeah good points. Maybe KU was fine with letting Galloway shoot/score (they probably thought he wouldn't hit as much as he did), as it took away from the others from getting in a rhythm? Just speculating.I caught the second half and echo the same points. Ware is regressing to his mean. Galloway can’t be their #1 scorer. One thing from watching the KU game was why KU kept Harris on Galloway. He is too small and allowed him to consistently go to his right. Noticed when Ware played against a real center he shied away from playing in the paint. Will be curious how we play against them especially since Galloway always plays with a chip on his shoulder against us. Think it has to do with losing his scholly to Ivey.
Last thing, Xavier Johnson is in rare company in the NCAA. Something tells me we might not see him this year because his foot never healed properly.
Yeah I’m curious on Xavier as well. Wishing him well but recovering from foot injuries is tough and as his advanced age (TIC) recovery time only increases. The NCAA is so bipolar they may or may not grant him another waiver. At this point he should have a PhD.Yeah good points. Maybe KU was fine with letting Galloway shoot/score (they probably thought he wouldn't hit as much as he did), as it took away from the others from getting in a rhythm? Just speculating.
Ware has so far shown he isn't ready to bring it vs bigs that are his height and similar skill (Clingan, Dickinson and now Miles from last night --although he's not anywhere as talented as Ware, but he brought the intensity). Noticed he wasn't in down the stretch until the last minute or so. Cupps's shot isn't good...he doesn't go straight up and is often fading to the left or right. It seems to fall short a lot, so he's either not following through all the way or doesn't have enough legs under his shot. He may be sped up more right now at this level and I assume he will get it corrected in the offseason, but he won't be someone who can get his shot off quick or blow by anyone...of course he could improve and get there by his junior or senior year.
And on X, that's a crazy stat haha. Would he by any chance somehow be able to get another medical redshirt? I've seen rumors he wont be back until Mid to late Feb. I also don't think Newton will ever be as explosive as he once was, which sucks for the kid.
This is what I thought about their team when Jackson-Davis was playing his first 4 years. His 5th year, I give Woody credit for somehow getting them to work together and making them mediocre.Lot of IU folks saying their body language looks like a group who doesn’t like playing together. Thanks for the correction. Seemed like 10 years.TJD only played 4 years
Well IU was in the one and one with over 12 minutes left in the second half. From what I saw, KU played their worst half all year and IU played one of their best. Was weird to see the Hall of Calls get uno reversed on IU in the second half and some bad calls went more in KU’s favor.
Yes. I thought I misunderstood. I replayed it to make sure I heard it correctly.Wow, was that a real quote?
