As for Cupps...He might do well at a Ball State for a year and then transfer again.

I was told the opposite. I heard they had 3 top targets and he was the 4th option. They were ok with that option, because they felt 1-3 were very close and the 4th wasn't far behind.

I'm piecing together the WVU take with what some national guys said - that we also reached out to three or four other big names. The WVU guys said nothing was officially offered to Devries until a month ago, and that the terms were signed about a week ago.
To me? That means IU made the perfunctory (and pointless) call to Stevens, made a call to May who was not interested in leaving UM after a year (or maybe ever), and called Otzelberger, who also said he wasn't interested in leaving ISU. They probably interviewed McCollum too.
Good hire for them, though their fanbase as a whole hate it. Shows the stupidity.
