It’s official, we are now clearly the # 2 Big Ten team in the state

And at least the number 3 Wbb program, if not worse, in the state. IU is 8-0 after beating UCLA
On the road and unbeaten Butler at home. We dropped to 6-3 after losing to MAC’s Ohio U.
for a second consecutive year. Sad!

This is precisely why I am against hiring alumni to be your coach

There needs to be a change made after this season. Versyp has taken this program from a perennial top 15 ranked team to the bottom of a mediocre Big Ten. I used to watch women's games and follow the team fairly close, but now? Meh. I don't think I'm alone in that either.

It is what it is. I'll root for Purdue in all sports, but it's hard to watch
V's teams. Good luck to them.

I think they made it official by beating us 3 times last season.

This is not a bottom of the BT team and will compete in the top 6 I think and if the lineup holds and the new additions next year could be one of the Top BT teams. But those are ifs and Purdue is now just one of myriad teams who cannot compete with the tiny elite programs in the country. Ohio is a very good team and was at home. Boilers fought back. Let's see what transpires. If Versyp wins at the rate I predict the next 2 seasons, they will not let her go. Not that important in the scheme of things.

What do you see with next year’s incoming class that makes you so optimistic?

A five star big and a 4 star guard I believe, plus virtually everyone one of significance on this years team. Not optimistic for any national presence. Just disputing we will be at the bottom of the BT. Except for one year, Versyp's teams have not been at the bottom and actually have been in or near the top 5 each year. As long as we keep comparing these teams to the ones that the scandal under Curry wrecked, it will just be frustration. We are one of the better team in the BT most years, have a winning record, and a shot at the Dance. That is the expected outcome for most BT teams except Maryland. Maybe a new coach can change that, but I think it is doubtful. I think it unlikely that the AD will dump a consistently winning coach and alumnae for that great of a risk and the money it will cost. But I am just a fan. Who knows? I do know that most fans of Purdue WBB are far more negative than positive and want a change and live mostly in the past glory.

One of the two players mentioned is rated as the number 27 player in her position, not overall, so unless that’s waaaaay off, I wouldn’t expect much as a freshman.

Just to keep the information accurate, the five star Power Forward we getting in 2019, Rickie Woltman, is ranked 4th in her position (25th overall). The post is where this current team is the weakest, so I do expect Ricky to have immediate impact. Scouting report: Skilled frontcourt prospect delivers in the paint, elevates in key with soft touch; pounds glass, scores vs. contact; big-forward with graceful interior game; mobile in uptempo; defends in the paint, alters shots.

The other 2019 recruit is a 5' 7" 3-star PG, Bria Harmon who is ranked 27th in the position. Her height might be the limiting factor in her ranking. Scouting report: Athletic lead-guard handles, reads pressure and attacks in transition game; manufactures, rises on jumper in mid-range game, 3-point range opportunist; collapses the defense, penetrates with body control to the rim; elusive play maker.

IU won its 9th of the season today and 15th straight over two years. If they continue to get better and better the pressure will be greater. Hoosiers lost their all time leading scorer and another outstanding player and they have not missed a beat!

In the old days IU would have never got A ND transfer like Ali Patberg over a program like Purdue, times have changed, Purdue will be a borderline tourney team, next year will be better, having said that, it's time for a Coaching change, a once proud program is pretty irrelevant, it's a shame.

It is time for a change. Used to be a national power and now we are an afterthought. It used to be a program to be proud of, no more!
