Illini vs PURDUE Game thread

when, on 4th down?
I might be in the minority here, but I would have gone for it even backed up around our own 35. I felt like Downing had shown enough in the first half that I would have trusted him to pick up a yard.

Just my $.02. We obviously punted and the defense slammed the door.

eh?

that would have been a serious mismanagement of timeouts, with as much time remained on the clock!
Did you not see Purdue take a timeout after the kickoff on 1st down (Purdue just received the ball)? What am I missing here?

Throwing out some second half optimism. I’m going guess final score after this first half. 23-13 (Purdue). Let’s get it boys.

that was the plan. Bielema called timeout as we were snapping the ball. It sounds like that changed the plans.

Karlaftis was held by 3 guys and nobody in stripes happened to notice or see it?

They're just going to keep doing it until it gets called, and with these officials, it won't happen unless there's a take-down, and even then I'm not confident.

Imagine that...a trick play...that was WIDE open...from the guy that is generally "not aggressive"...followed by a throw DOWN THE FIELD.

I get the hold down the field on the DB that was run by, but, what about the hold on the OL who was run by as well that was ignored again by the officials?

Correct. I'm saying I still would have gone for it. I don't know... nobody pays me to coach. Brohm must have seen something he didn't like.

Meanwhile, 5th-ranked Iowa is down 14-7 @ home to Colorado State in the 3rd Q....wow.
In all seriousness...if that holds up...with the Wisconsin debacle today, and, Minnesota losing at home...B1G will have some big time perception issues, and, it is genuinely wide open on the West side of things seemingly

I'm watching it on TV...

There was a timeout taken after the kickofff on first down. Again, not sure what you're hearing or seeing...
help me out here. what complaint are you fishing for? What grave screw up do you think occurred? We didn't need the timeouts, there was no problem not using them. We have some areas we need significant improvement, but we don't need to go this far searching for something to complain about.

I'm not "searching" for something to complain about. I made a statement it would have been nice to keep it for a 2 minute offense ideally. You kept saying it was 4th down. It wasn't. Not sure what your issue is here.

I hear you, although I still think TMHR is the best team in the West.....would possibly damage the conference's chances for the playoff.

Hawkeyes just scored, so now.....there can be peace.
