The IHSAA Boys Basketball State Finals are on Saturday at Bankers Life. Caleb Swanigan and Homestead will play a high-scoring and one-loss Evansville Reitz team in the 4A Championship game. I would assume Painter will be there to watch Swanigan, considering we're out of the tournament and should focus on recruiting now. (Although Id rather be in MSU's or Duke's position, where our coaches were still in the tournament and couldn't make the trip) Regardless, it would be a good opportunity for Swanigan to see the Purdue coaching staff again. Also, Saturday will mark the end of Swanigan's HS season, and he stated recently he would be making a decision after the season (although not sure how long after).
In the 2A game, Park Tudor's Jaren Jackson (2017) will be facing Frankton. Jackson is a 6'8" sophomore forward with major D1 offers already. Can't remember if Purdue has offered yet, but if not, I'm sure it will soon. That 2017 class has some very solid players from Indianapolis. Jackson, Paul Scruggs (Southport), and Kris Wilkes (North Central) are all major talents. I know it's early and rankings don't mean a whole lot, but they're all three currently ranked in the top 35 on Rivals. Hopefully Painter can get started early with those players.
