I love this team

I was able to watch the last 10 minutes or so when Pitt actually went up by a point.

I have to say this Purdue team has a chance to be really good. Hammons and Cline were a two-man wrecking crew for about 5 minutes after Pitt got the lead. Cline looks like he can be a real threat for us. Like a much more consistent version of Stephens.

Biggie was huge too (literally). He had a couple of strong moves and strong rebounds there. Best looking Purdue freshman I've watched in a long time. He has an NBA body and NBA game IMO.

The most impressive was PJ to me. Very calm and collected. Two huge steals at the end, making up for his one bad turnover. I've previously called him "John Hart of this class" before and I'm ready to eat crow. He ran the team very well from what I can tell.

Very excited about this team.

I admit, I thought Cline would be Ryne 2.0 and we would regret not using the RS. AJH was the man tonight but Cline was also a big part of that win. Nice win on the road!

And they do seem to be just that - a TEAM. With the competition for minutes, it would be easy to see some selfishness or jealousy sprout up, and I have seen none of that.

The teams of the past few years would have panicked, jacked up a bunch of runners and bad threes that lead to run outs the other way, and we would have lost by 15. This is like a Bo Ryan team. They don't beat themselves, you have to beat them. Love it!!

Man it feels good to be a Boilermaker.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this team. Even with Ray out I wasn't worried at all. Just too many weapons, and too much confidence all around.

Great win boys! Great for Purdue and great for the B1G!

I told a friend of mine a week ago that I thought this was probably the best Purdue team I have seen. Yes I saw the 80 team, 88 team, 94 team, 98 team & 10-11 teams. The depth and shooting put this team just above the 10 team before Hummel went down. To play like that without your leader is just increadable. Can't wait to get RD back. Game like tonight without him would have been nice to have Basil, but he's hurt also.

Well, we definitely had a couple of those stretches tonight. But they're certainly capable of getting to that point. Just have to cut out the couple blips each game. The last 5-8 minutes of the first half were just bad.

I didn't get to watch the 1980 FF team (lived in Texas at that time and seldom even got scores in the paper), but witnessed first hand the 1969 FF team, and it was at least as much fun to watch. I'll reserve final judgement until we learn if this team has what it takes to reach the FF and Championship Game like that one did, but it certainly has that potential.

While Hammons deserves the player of the game, I knew when Cline made those 3's and took Pitt out of their zone the game was over. We built that big lead at the beginning because their man to man could not handle our big's down low.............................

This team could really be special...can't wait to see how the season plays out.

I saw them all and believe the potential is very high. Could match 1969 & 1980. The pieces are all there including the chemistry. In some ways this group has more overall talent (not taking anything away from Mount or JB our best ever players). We look like we are playing one game at a time!

Cline is going to be a great Boiler. There is much more to his game that we will see as he matures and gets stronger. Right now he is primarily a spot up shooter (and a damn good one) and on this team, that's what we need. I said before the season he would win us 2 to 3 games this year. Well there's one.

I work with an E.Michigan grad. who brags on Univ of Michigan and MSU to the point where I almost barf. He couldn't believe how good we are after watching last night. He called Cline "that kid, the 16 year old runt, looks like he's been shooting 3 pointers on the side of the barn since he was 5 years old."

I thought that was funny. Indiana stereotyping, I guess.

Cline reminds me a lot of Hummel. Not quite as tall, but as a freshman he is skinny, has great basketball IQ and can shoot and pass the ball.

After an offseason in the weight room, he'll be great. And hopefully that means no more touch fouls on transition defense! ha
