The European countries together are far wealthier than Russia. If they think it is important there in their neighborhood to keep Russia out of non-Nato Ukraine, they have the means to do so - but are not willing to reduce their own high funding of social programs to do so. So American taxpayers allow them to keep funding those social programs at the current levels by providing billions to Ukraine.

I can't say 100% for sure my last post is what really happened, but on the surface it seems to be the most plausible with it not being rumors but people that know the bus drivers.

I don't know why they went after Menendez for routine bribery - except maybe to mollify critics who ask why DOJ hasn't gone after Hunter for the Biden family selling-influence scheme.
