It can be a tough, fine line to walk between being a fan and providing content for you guys. Sometimes we want to overreact, ya know, but really, can't. Appreciate you guys following along. Thanks for interacting with us on the message boards.
How are you doing today? It's gotta be challenging at times for you guys: being alums, fans, but also as professional writers and columnists, to try and remain neutral and not come off as total homers.
Happen to enjoy both this site & TOS. Keep up the good work!
I’m 53, the days of enjoying snow are gone, nothing but a pain in the ass lol. I got parents in their 70’s, already depending on me to get their long ass driveway uncovered, I’m getting too old for it really. As for the Boilers, hope they get the day off today to regroup, long season, they were due for a bad stretch. Also, there’s no way NW is winning the Big Ten, a fan posted that, trust me, not happening, they got at least 1 probably 2 losses left in them.Wish we would get some snow down here in God's Country
I feel for the kids. They have played enough games to understand typical officiated games and the last couple. That said, depending on how they handle it there might be some good things that result from that frustration.Morning after, how is everyone feeling?
Good last paragraph. Look, Purdue hoops has been my passion for many years, however, a loss with me lasts about 10 minutes, yesterday’s not much at all Purdue got beat. Screaming about refs, going into fits of rage’s isn’t my thing, it’s a damn game, take the loss and move on. I’m sorry, two losses in mid Feb doesn’t make or break a season. Next month Purdue will probably be about 1 of 12 teams of so capable of winning 6 straight games. Will they? My guess would be no, there’s a reason why this was thought of as a rebuilding season heading into the year, team has flaws. Having said that, Purdue can beat any team in the country if they’re on, if they do great, if they don’t pack it in and get ready for next year!I feel for the kids. They have played enough games to understand typical officiated games and the last couple. That said, depending on how they handle it there might be some good things that result from that frustration.
1 Like finding that 4 leaf clover, perhaps there will be some questions with the officiating with enough publicity to draw some attention to what is happening to Zach and Purdue's offensive play.
2) This could result in the team circling the wagons a bit and pulling together a bit more
3) In the first two or three games in the tourney Purdue will play against smaller 5s that will also trying to physically disable with quickness Zach. Purdue should be better with that due to experience and some tape. Problem is that Zach is low and it is easier to hide that physical play low than at high post where you have two not one ref, watching.
4)I'm guessing lineup changes with Brandon getting more minutes at 2 and 3
5) The two or three best post feeds outside of Braden may very well have been Trey when Matt put him at high post and ran a bit of high low.
6)If the 4 man outside of Mason (Trey /Caleb) can't stroke it efficiently, perhaps Purdue plays more 3 out instead of 4 out adding physical presence in the lane. The only concern I have is if Trey gets on the perimeter too much and the D becomes a concern.
7) The lack of a 4 man a threat from outside and a move to only 3 out ends up being a defensive problem greater than the offense, that will be something to watch
8)All the goals are still in front of the team.
9) This is a good year and can still be a good year...and the future looks even brighter
10) Understanding that the players and coaches put an enormous amount of time trying to chase perfection in order to catch excellence, they want to win more than any fan desires.
Lastly, as hard as this is, and I love my Purdue basketball, if a person's happiness for that person, rather than the players, is found in 18-22 year olds running up and down the court with a ball...get ready for a lot of "personal" disappointments.
