The high scoring game had a lot to do with the officiating. The inordinate number of whistles allowed both teams to score with the clock stopped. Not only that, but lots of clock stoppages for out of bounds plays.

While Purdue's defense wasn't up to standard, the impact of the way the game was called had quite a bit of influence.

There were many plays that Purdue made on defense that are stops or turnovers in all other games, that were fouls in the game tonight.
